Great Wheels; Bad Zippers

Just took this on its first trip on an overseas flight. Pros: it looks great, it's roomy and the separate compartments are nice to have, and the wheels make it incredibly easy to move with little effort in the airport, on sidewalks, etc. Cons: the zippers rotate so that they can be latched in at the top of the case, but that rotation means the zippers twist around while trying to zip and unzip the case so you can't just quickly and smoothly zip/unzip - you have to constantly twist and jerk the zipper around to get it open/closed. Also discovered the case is not waterproof - it was raining at my connection airport so when I got home, the case was still wet (with spotty watermarks after drying that hopefully will clean up) and my clothes inside were slightly damp - luckily it was all dirty clothes as I was coming home, but if it had been the beginning of my work trip and all my work clothes were damp, I would not have been happy. Still debating whether I should return this for something more durable with easier to use zippers.

I LOVE the color! Purple is my favorite and this one is more beautiful than I thought it would be. Love the updated features - the ability to lock my wheels-wow!! This is the 6th Away suitcase and by far my favorite!!

This is a beautiful and , of course, very durable and functional, bag. The size is perfect for a checkin and for moving about the airport. It maneuvers easily and is easy to spot.

Former Soft-sided Fan

I've only used soft-sided luggage previously and was a little concerned about how I'd like this one. BUT it's great! I saved a little on the weight, and all the compartments worked fine. When it came time to zip it up, I thought "uh-oh!" it doesn't have any give, but it did! The flexible fabric at the zipper was just enough to stretch the wee bit needed to close. I do miss an external pocket, but not a big deal.
