Firm And Somewhat Poor Cushioning

I've been wearing the Gel-Contend 9 from time to time since the spring of 2025. I used them casually and sometimes for long-distance walking. The cushioning is a bit firm, and it lacks significant forefoot cushioning... it feels especially bad in that area. Now I only wear them as lifestyle shoes. On the positive side, it's breathable, the fit is excellent, the mesh feels great, and the all-black colourway looks really good. Now that we're in 2026, competitors are offering soft-cushioned budget options. I look forward to seeing ASICS do the same.
