Fits Like A Square

If you enjoy a square fit buy this jacket. Gone are the days where Arc'teryx differentiated itself with tailored fits shaped for athletic outdoor types. I've worn medium since 2010. This jacket was as wide as it was tall on me just like a square. I'm 6' 1" 160 lbs. The previous Thorium had a more typical tailored fit. My gripe with that jacket was the hood was small to the point it could make the jacket ride up on me. This new version in white just makes me look like the Stay Puft Marshmallow man. Aside from that fabric seems durable as usual. I passed on this model.

Updated As Belay Jacket Sizing

So first thing’s first: this has been updated as a belay jacket but it’s not very explicitly stated. It really should be in the name. Essentially the medium now fits like the large did last year, but with shorter sleeves. On a positive note, The hood is much better than last year’s version. Thankfully, I looked up reviews and thought to order a size down. The only problem is that the arms are too short for me in a medium. I’m gonna send it back, but I already have a belay jacket so I guess this isn’t gonna work for me. blurple is a very nice color though. Overall pretty frustrating. If the sleeves were about 2 inches longer, the medium would fit me perfectly as a daily driver.

Nice Jacket.

Really nice jacket. Mine ran a bit small so I went to a large from medium. Nice insulation and very light weight. Really like the material and hood.

Great But Runs Small

I like the jacket a lot, the material is good, the neck and hood are great and I like the color, it is warm as well. I have an issue with the fit though - it runs too small

Excellent Jacket

This is by far my favorite jacket. I bought mine about five years ago, and I wear it almost everyday from late fall to early spring. The quality is unmatched. After so much use, I have yet to have a thread come loose. Highly recommend.

Great Coat

Amazing jacket! Durable material. I’ve been wearing it for a month now and had minimal feather shedding. The purple color is sick, and I get so many complements. 10/10!

Like The Jacket

I like the jacket though I bought the medium, which does not leave much room for layering on my aged pear-shaped body. Good construction, ample pockets, and seems like it will last.

Short Sleeves & Tight Armpits

The fit is off due to the excessive tightness in the arm pits and the shortness of the arm cuffs. I am 5'10" & 160lbs. A very average physique. It seems like they tried to make a 'fitted/tailored' puffer but came up short in a couple ways. The warmth is superior. The weight is super light. The structure makes it so this jacket nearly stands up un-propped. The material is durable & will withstand walking through a bramble of dry dead twigs wisping up against it. The pockets are decent, but why does it provide such a small chest pocket that barely fits a medium sized android? The packability is what you'd hope for. But short sleeves and tight armpits degrade the other 5 star amenities so much so that I will return it.

Thorium Brings Thor's Fight To Subzero

Fit is perfect, the collar feels warm and the jacket is made of a great material. Wind does not penetrate and for the first time, I am not layering underneath it. I find myself getting warm in sub-zero temps. Strongly recommend the Thorium jacket is a great value :)

Not Worth The Money And It Was On Sale

The warmth and insulation is mediocre at best and not worth the money. The way it was presented online made me think it was a better product then what it is. There are comparable products for about half the amount. I live in Chicago and this product is almost worthless when it hits 25 desgrees and a little wind. I wish they would describe the product better and not oversell it. I do have a coat I bought from this company 10 years ago that is much better.

Great Jacket In The Winter Time!!

Even with just a thin T-shirt underneath, this jacket keeps me warm. It’s comfortable to move around in and doesn’t feel restrictive when driving, so I think it’ll be really useful this winter. Highly recommended!

Weird Fit

Body is very wide and sleeves are very short. Not sure who has a much longer torso then arm length but strange fit.

Aura

frickeng goated as flip! Makes me aura farm. I love this jacket 67

Absolutely Excellent Jacket To Own!

The Thorium Hoody is such a fantastic jacket! I just received the latest version in Tatsu, which is so nice, the best colorway in my opinion. I have the Thorium Hoody, the Beta AR and the Cerium Hoody all in Tatsu, such great pieces to own. My first Thorium Hoody was back in 2022. For me, the repurchase is worth it for the design upgrades. That being the two dump pockets and the hood is now DOWN and not fully Coreloft as the earlier design. The only Coreloft in the hood now is just around the brim of the face and a small three inch by four inch section, which is new, that now covers the back draw string cinch and grommet from shedding water. I would say the hood is now in my unscientific estimation of being 85% down and 15% Coreloft, a real upgrade from the previous version. The sizing is the exact same as the previous version in the medium size. I love the Thorium Hoody so much, such a great piece to have in my arsenal that includes ten different Arc'teryx jackets. A jacket worthy of a 5 star rating!

Great Fit And Warmth - Some Qc Issues...

Amazing fit - I love the slightly longer length than the Cerium line. I have a cerium LT hoodie now and needed something for when its super cold. Love the fit of this in a medium - few issues however. The front zipper garage at the neckline is too tight - the zipper cannot get to the top of the collar, and this looks particularly off with the dark magic colorway, as the zipper stands out. The right collar top had some stitching with glue on it that was very hard and cut at my chin/lip every time the jacket was zipped up. My only other feedback would be that the down hood is too tight when not up, and pushes at the back of your head/neck...seems like a design opportunity for sure. I have another on order - hopefully the first two issues will be rectified with the new jacket?
