Compliments Galore & Held Up In A Wet Environment!

Opened the box last night, wore them to work today. I operate a greenhouse facility & I'm not lying when I tell you I received about 20 compliments on the shoes today. I bought the Norvan's in Braken. They did great in all the puddles. Thanks

Very Noisey Gtx Liner

Descent hiking shoe, not as great for trail running if you like moderate cushion and underfoot protection on technical surfaces. One shoe make considerable noise all the time when walking/running, I assume it's a defect. Not very breathable in warm conditions. Traction is good. Fits true to size, good room in forefoot. Midsole cushion has deformed a lot with not much use.

Norvan Shoe

Don’t wear this shoe when it is cold because the sole hardens and you risk to slipping is greatly increased I know first hand also the back part of the shoe is suppose grip well in the back it does but then it rips in about a month. Walking on grass pushing a lawn mower there is good support Overall i would not recommend this shoe I also noticed walking on wet trails with root there is no grip Can slip on off camber slopes to easy

Best Shoes I Own.

I have too many pairs of shoes but these are by far my favourites. They are by far the most comfortable running shoes I have ever owned. I bought them in black and just ordered blue. Only complaint is I wish there more colours.

Great Design, Disappointing Durability

The Norvan LD 4 GTX is a great shoe with one major exception. The great: comfortable and very stable on trail; the perfect balance of stability and cushion; protective of the foot in the right places, great traction on trail. The small updates from the previous version (I had the Norvan LD 3 non-GTX) make a huge difference. The Norvan LD 4 has a bit more room in the forefoot, more stability and foot protection, making a better fitting and better feeling shoe overall. The disappointing: fabric durability is lacking again in this version. After two on-trail outings (30 miles total) there's already a hole in the fabric at the flex point. The Norvan LD 3 wore quickly at the same point, but the LD 4 GTX seemed like it had more robust material so I gave it a shot. I can't believe that an Arcteryx product with the LD (long distance) moniker would give out so fast after 30 miles, especially with the product description of a "durable upper" for runs over "mud, roots, and rocks" -- that's exactly my use case, all on trail. None of my other trail runners show wear anything like this until after many hundreds of miles.

Excellent Lightweight Shoe!

The shoe itself is very lightweight and tread has excellent traction.

A Disaster In Design Change

From Norvan LD 3 GTX to Norvan LD 4 GTX, the lateral edge is raised and changes to a more rigid material, which will immediately hit your lateral malleolus and hurt your foot while walking. Norvan LD 3 GTX has no such issue. So don't assume a happy Norvan LD 3 GTX user will end up with happy running with the fourth generation. Arcteryx, please learn human anatomy before doing any design change!

Amazing Outdoor Shoes

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Bought these about a month ago and love them so comfortable and perfect for the unpredictable weather here .

Ld3 Was A Far Superior Shoe.

I can't express how disappointed I am in these shoes versus the LD 3 version. Just about every aspect is worse. The fit is narrow to the point of being painful yet it feels longer and sloppy, especially in the heel. The feel while running is overly stiff comparable to the older version with obviously reduced cushion underfoot. It feels like a fashion shoe vs. a technical trail shoe. The design of the lacing system being hidden and tucked underneath creates weird pressure points and causes the fabric to bunch up when you try to get the shoe tight enough. Somehow they even managed to make the lace garage worse than previous versions. I'll be scouring the internet to try and find the older LD3 version if I can.

Comfortable Even In The City!

Comfortable, good for city walking too! Bought this to prepare for the rainy days.

Too Much $ For A Poorly Designed Shoe

I’ve had these for 5+ months now; bought them for rainy Oregon. As other reviews have said, they are stiff and not comfortable. I feel like I have to force myself to wear them just because I paid so much for them. At the time I bought these because Hoka didn’t have many waterproof running shoe options… but atp comfort over style does matter most.

Love The Look

Great looking shoe, fits to size, and feels good when I walk long distances

Breathable And Comfortable

I never had luck with GTX shoes until the Norvan. The trade off between breathability and waterproofing wasn't worth it for me. This shoe is breathable enough to make the trade well worth it. Super comfortable and the quality you expect from Arcteryx.

Not Waterproof

Good looking shoe, great fit form my size 12 wide foot, but not even close to being waterproof. Brand new, worn for a 10 block walk in light to moderate rainfall, using an umbrella, and socks were soaking wet. Not even water resistant. I have tons of Arc'teryx gear and have never been disappointed. These shoes should not be marketed as waterproof. ☹️

Why Change The Sole?

Why did you change the sole cushioning? This is my 3rd pair of Norvan LDs and these are the least comfortable cushioning of them all. The prior versions were much softer and these soles are HARD out of the box like they are 3 years old and worn out. My feet were sore after wearing these for just 1-2 hours. Also, why hide lace loops under the side flaps? This causes the shoe side flaps to not be flush and not have a secure, form fitting feel. It also causes debris to get in around the shoe tongue. Very poor color options - what happened to the grey color? I assumed they would be as comfortable as the prior versions and already wore them in the dirt so can't return them now.
