Totally Wrong

Totally wrong jacket. I bought this for my boyfriend’s Christmas present and it’s not even close to the same as his last atom. Way too long, arms too long. So upset. I don’t even know what is the point of putting a completely different item under the same name. Just call it something else?! So disappointing. Now I have to return it and hope I can find something similar.

Great But Needs Some Fabric Impovments

I have had this for a few weeks, and it has been great so far. It was hard not to consider the negative reviews. I do agree that the fabric seems way too fragile, but I have not encountered any piling or anything like that while wearing a shoulder bag every day, which is pretty heavy. I do agree that if you get snagged on anything with this hoody it will tear. I think the sleeve cuffs are not the best if you have shorter arms, but the overall fit of the hoodie is great. It's been a nice addition to a standalone jacket and a layering piece under a waxed jacket. The jacket has been warm at 30°F with just a t-shirt under it. I do think if the fabric of the outside of the jacket were improved to be less fragile, it would be perfect. Over all I like this hoody and it's nice to have this in rotation.

Favorite Fit But Actually Really Wimpy

I love this jacket for the fit, aesthetics and the functionality but the fabric is really wimpy for an outdoors type jacket. Don’t dare walk through brush or anything like it as it will snag and tear pretty easily. I’ve had many jackets and this is the wimpiest. But I’m on my second one! Use it for skiing and mid layer for hiking. If you want a do it all jacket don’t buy this.

If It’s Good Enough For The Dark Wolf

Best mid layer insulation piece I have found, better than Patagonia Nano Puff and Micro Puff. I wear the hoody outdoors and on weekends and the jacket to work and when I’m going to be outside to inside a lot. Only weather that challenges it is stiff sideways wind that cuts through side panels. But they’re also the feature that makes it so breathable and fit well. Check out the new season of Terminal List Dark Wolf, the main character wears the older Black Sapphire color Atom Hoody throughout.

Excellent All-rounder For Climbing!

The Atom hoody has served me well as my go-to lightweight covering for bouldering and sport across California over the last two years. It stays quite warm, especially when active, and has never left me disappointed in the Spring-Fall months. Fit runs small on broad chest/shoulders, but otherwise no complaints. I only wish it had a small stuff sack like some of the heavier Arc'Teryx jackets!
