I Want To Love These Shoes!

I love these shoes but I ran 23 miles in them and it rained for about an hour and the inserts that came in the shoe started to roll up in them as I was running down and up hills. I've not had them very long maybe alittle over a month. I have loved altra olympus shoes they are my go too for trails. I love the gator that is built into the shoe it worked amazingly while running on trail. My only problem is the insert in the shoe. Ive got my 3 100 mile race in October No Business 100 and I've got alot of water crossing in that race and I don't need a shoe that inserts that roll up after being wet. Please fix the inserts in these shoes.

So Grippy!

I've been a King MT II gal for years, mostly for backpacking, but as I get back into daily running after a few years off, I wanted to try something with high cushion, as I've had issues with plantar fasciitis in the past and don't want a repeat. But I also prefer to really feel the ground beneath my feet, and I'd tried a high cushion shoe in the past (not Altra) and hated them, so I wasn't sure I'd like these. Plot twist: I freaking love them. They're the grippiest shoes I've worn to date, even grippier than the MT II's, and I can still feel the ground, despite the high cushion. I've been running on gravel roads a lot lately, and the grip on these keeps me stable on the downhills with a dirt and loose rock mix. I like the built-in gaiter, too. It's soft fabric that lays gently on the ankle. These did not require a break-in period for me. They were incredibly comfy straight out of the box (sized up a half size for trail running). And this morning when I did a quick 20-min run in absolute pouring rain, my socks were the only thing that stayed dry. These might just overtake the King MT II's as my favorite shoe, and that's saying a lot. I'm the one who was buying used King MT II's any time I saw them when Altra temporarily stopped making them, because I love them so much. I do kinda miss the velcro strap of the KMTII, but I'm happy to have found a shoe that makes me excited to put them on and go for a run.

Like Walking On Marshmallows

I bought these sneakers for work since I’m on concrete floors for 9-hour shifts, and they’ve been amazing. They feel like walking on marshmallows, super bouncy and cushioned…and they’ve been helping with my back/sciatic pain. The toe box is perfectly wide without feeling sloppy, and my usual size 9. 5 fit well. I also took them on a walk in the woods today and was impressed by how good the grip was on rocky terrain. I was a little nervous that the ankle gaiter would feel tight or uncomfortable, but it’s actually really soft and stretchy. My ankles swell by the end of my shift and I have high volume feet and these shoes handle everything like a champ. I can’t tell you how long I e been searching for wide toe boxes that are actually wide with a zero drop cushioned sole. Overall, I’m extremely happy with them and will probably grab another pair for outside of work if I can find another coupon!
