I bought these and wanted to love them but I made the mistake of not trying them within the 30 day window and they run small so I’m stuck with hikers that are too small and no recourse

These are the perfect hiking boots! Let me back up and say I started out with the lone peak hiking shoe and I have used those for years. I loved everything about them, until it came to hiking the rocky and sandy parts of my home state. My ankles didn't have the support needed with the shoe. I cannot tell you how many times I rolled my ankles. Anyways, I loved the shoe so much I decided to buy a hiking boot through altra. Due to the hot weather conditions in my home state, I needed something light weight and breathable. Enter the lone peak boot. Now, the material is thicker than the lone peak shoes to add extra protection, as it should, but that means it fits a little smaller than the shoe. I had to go a whole size up from my lone peak shoe to get the perfect fit for the boot. (I ordered 3 different boots sizes trying to find the right size. Altras return/30 day trial was amazing for this situation!). My ankles are now protected and supported and I have not had a single rolled ankle! That being said, this is not a heavy duty boot. I would suggest checking out some of their other boots if you are looking for a thicker sole or sturdier material. However, I have taken them on a few 7 miles hikes in very rocky conditions and have not had a single rip or tear in the material. I HIGHLY recommend this shoe to everyone: family, friends, even strangers!

Never mind what others are saying. This is shoe is comfortable, easy to put on, light weight, and not hot. The problem with this shoe is that you can feel every rock and stump in the ground with hiking. So a great boot for easy terrain, but your feet will not be happy if you are hiking on stumps and small gravel all day. Would be 6 stars if they made a version of this with a bottom like a sole like a Keen. Please do and call me when you make it!

the sizing is difficult fit well. I got my normal size 7.5 my toes were squished. I Exchanged for a Size 8 and the Body of the shoe is too wide for my foot and my toes slam into the shoe when I walk.

I really love how comfortable these are, but Altra for the love of all things hiking, PLEASE put a decent tread on these boots. I'll take a bit more weight as a trade for better tread. Horrible tread!

I've really enjoyed these shoes! They're comfortable, cute and have held up very well. I do not have wide feet so at first I wondered if the toe box might be too big, but it was actually nice that my toes had a little extra space to stretch. I ordered the size I usually wear, and wore the shoes mainly for a hiking trip to New Zealand. They're lightweight and have ankle support, both of which are definitely helpful when going out on a trail. Two thumbs up!

I have purchased several of the lone peak hiker before and they have all been extremely comfortable, lightweight and breathable. This updated version is uncomfortable, extremely hot and material is very thick. Had to return.

I have owned many pairs of the All weather Lone Peaks and these are not sized the same at all. I wear a 7 in normal and 8 in athletic shoes. I ordered an 8 and they fit like a true 7.

I love these shoes so much. I bought the brown but they are a strange brown/salmon color. I love the Altra brand for my feet but the styling needs a lot of work. Same with the shoes, unfortunately.

I received this as a christmas gift and it's a bit small. They are unable to exchange the product for me. I don't recommend buying from online companies that do not have a gift or exchange policy

I like the shoe but incredibly hard to put on without smashing the back down

Love the natural shaped toe box! Why do the mens selection of shoes always have vibrant color options but the women's are always muted & blah colors? Step up to the plate, Altra, and start something!

I work outside at farmers markets, clear land, build things and get up to all kinds of muddy mischief in my other boots. These are my clean boots for times a slightly smelly boot won't do. I so love to wear them. People compliment them and I dance around in comfort. Some complain about then not being brown. It's true they are more of a dusty salmon with brown accents and peach laces - way more fun than just brown. The one thing that would make these better is to go back to a pull tab so they're easier to pull on. I love you Altra! Thanks for making these neuroma friendly boots.

I just purchased the alta lone peak hiker 2. The hiker 2 is nearly impossible to get on. No pull at the back of the boot, which results in crushing the entire back of the boot, which will diminish the ankle support over time. The upper cloth loops are very prohibited when trying to tighten the laces.
