Make Them For Roads!!

I actually love these they are technically the only Altra shoe i can stand wearing for extended lengths of time. The only problem is iam wearing them to work which requires road walking so they're wearing out way quicker (bought some 8/11/26 already need more) bc these are trail shoes! Give them road soles and I will buy them forever!!

Perfect For Our Family

We are a family of wide feed and we all wear altras for every day, running and hiking. Love them!

Lone Peak 9 Changed From Other Versions

I have owned and put countless miles on at least 10 pairs of lone peaks. This summer on a backpacking trip, I developed Achilles pain while wearing the lone peak 9. I read that the heel construction has changed - and I feel continual pressure on my heel. I have worn zero drop for years and previous versions don't give me this problem. I am going to have to switch to a new brand of trail shoe and am so disappointed. Also, my laces come untied many times every time I am out despite trying all types of tying styles - super annoying.

Great Pair Of Shoes That

Great pair of shoes that I consistently wear for hikes and trail runs (wore it up Kilimanjaro!). Love the purple version as well. I wouldn't buy these shoes unless you are already comfortable with zero-drop shoes. Also the padding is minimal and the heel loop pull tab stitching could be reinforced a little.

Best Shoes For Wide Feet

Best shoes for wide feet and normal arches on trails.

Nice Wide Toe Box

These shoes provided my mother with more stability than other shoe brands and she’s safer, and more comfortable with them on.

Best Shoe I’ve Found For Wide Feet

I have a wide toe box and wide feet. It’s hard finding shoes that fit my feet, I’m so thankful I found these! They’re amazing!

I Like My Lone Peak

I like my lone peak trail shoes a lot. I still wish they were making the hybrid road/trail shoes as I don’t get out on trail as much as I’d like to these days. If I could have given 4. 5 stars I would have.

Lightweight And Good Traction

This shoe is ok. It wont protect your foot from rocks like a boot but it is light weight and will grip rocks good. The shoe collapses if the trail is not even, like if you are on the side of a hill. Your feet will probably be sore the first several times using these shoes.

Too Wide?

I own the Escalante 4 and it is a size 8 which I felt was a little short. So I ordered the 8. 5 in the Lone Peak 9 and it is so much wider (regular width) than the Escalante. It is too wide for my marginally wide foot (9cm). I have to wear thick socks every time and it's annoying in the summer.

Glad They Come In Black

First time trying the lone peak 9 in all black which is my prefer color for all shoes. I like they have a low profile maybe a little more cushion but overall great shoe for walking in a terrain like the fact I feel more stable in these for a zero drop shoe

Downhill - Figuratively And Literally

I have been an Altraholic and a complete brand loyal fan over the past 10+ years (I was a brand ambassador for 2 years!). They are all I wear - run, hike, walk, work. I adore the LPs, but something went south on the LP 9s. As another reviewer mentioned, the toe box keeps getting bigger and bigger. I’ve worn the same size for years, yet this pair seems freakishly loose. I’ve never had a shoe fill with tiny rocks as these have. Even with just street wear. The worst part? The grip on Altras (specifically the Lone Peak and the Superiors) have made me feel like spider(wo)man on inclines. The LP9s slip and slide all over the place. I actually slid on a very non-technical incline today. These shoes have <100 miles on them. Do better Altra. Go back to the way Golden used to make the shoes - the quality of Altras gave me questioning future choices.

Initial Fit Feels Great + Color Feedback

The fit feels good, it's not often I wonder if a shoe is too wide. Love the return to the original toebox design. In terms of performance I assume I will love these as much as the first Altras I owned 5 or so years ago. They are not black - they're a deep navy. That's somewhat disappointing but I am still THRILLED to have this option compared to grey, neon, or the other ugly options wide-footed runners were forced to choose from the last time I purchased a pair. (That moment where most trail runners on the market were multicolored like a clown show was so awful. )

Way Different Fit Than Previous Versions

I have owned Lone Peak versions 5, 6, 7, 8, and now 9. Versions 5-8 have been my most favorite shoes ever. I ordered LP 9 online in my regular size, feeling confident as all the others fit so well. However, the LP 9 are tight across the top of my foot, and when I flex my foot to walk, they pinch across the outer top edges of my feet. I thought I just got a weird pair, but after trying another pair on in a store, and even trying a bigger size, they still don't fit like the older ones. I am a little heart broken, but I hope that the issue will be fixed when the Lone Peak 10s come out, and they can be my favorite shoe again.

Slippery When Wet

Tried these on in a store. The toe box is awesome. Very roomy. I usually have to get a size wide (Paradigm 8) but not in this shoe. Very comfortable. I like the rubber protection around the edge. Only con is that they are slippery on wet floors.
