I am a long timer wearer of Saucony Kinvara (15+ years) for running and even their wide isn't as I want/not like the toebox shoes now becoming more popular. I really love the size of the toe box from this shoe, however, the midsole/arch support is minimal to none compared to the Kinvara series (which is one of the lower-end supports from Saucony) and there's a strange creasing sensation at the base of my big toe. I really am not sure how to explain it except that the material folds in at such a bunched up/sharp angle you can feel it peak and press into your big toe. Maybe it's just me and the fit of the shoe on my foot. I am a size 9.0, so that's what I ordered but I'm not sure if a an 8.5 would solve that creasing issue. Still, the lack of support and sturdy feel that I get from the Kinvara doesn't seem to justify the price, even with this lovely toe box shape. If there's another model that is known to have more midfoot/arch support, please inform me, I would consider giving that model a try.

I absolutely love my Flow 2s. They are more cushioned that the original Flow and way way better for it. I also love the tall heel cup that is so comfortable and supportive right out of the box. I wish I could buy another pair, but none are left in my size. The Flow 3s lack the cushioning and tall heel that I love. Bring those back in the flow 4 please!

Altra's Experience Flow 2's are my FAV! My go to daily running shoe & great for walking as well! The current color way I purchased i am not too fond of but it's a great shoe for me. Unfortunately, limited colors for my size so, I decided just to jump on the light blue. I have never had a pair of Altras come stained or marked but did have to clean them up when I got them out of the package and box. The black grease like stain on the laces did not come off but I got it lighter so its better than being black on this light blue color. The other stains did not come out but I did clean them so they can be worn without worry of what was on them. Besides the stains and marks on them, you cannot go wrong with Altra Flows! The flow 2's are slightly more narrow in the arch but not in a bad way! They snug just right to your foot and these do have a slightly smaller toe box (not like the traditional wide toebox) but again, it is not in a bad way! This shoe just flows with you as you run! I do suggest going up a half size and if you are a person that swells when you run, go up a size. I went up a half size and these fit PERFECT! Just enough room to run comfortably, even at longer distances! Feels light, supportive shoe. Runs slightly more narrow than traditional altra shoes & runs slightly smaller but I believe that is due to the more narrow and smaller toe box. Suggestion: go up half size *if you tend to swell or wear thicker socks, go up a size. I wear feetures socks, I wear size 6 and bought 6. 5 & I love the fit!

I have been wearing flux and wanted to give the altras a try. But the shoe is very narrow… more narrow than my old new balances across the forefoot, the one thing I wanted to avoid.

I bought my typical running shoe size, and this is still a very tight fit across the front and top of my foot, making it uncomfortable at times. I tend to have wide feet, so maybe this shoe just isn't right for my foot.

I’m so sad these don’t fit like my other Altra shoes (which I love so much). I tried them on and immediately noticed that the outer side of the shoe feels much narrower, especially for a shoe advertised as having a “roomy toe box. ” The shoes are incredibly comfortable to walk in, and technically, there is plenty of room in the toe box. The quality also looks and feels great. However, the overall fit feels noticeably narrower and more snug compared to my other pair of Altras. They just don’t have the same roomy feel I’ve come to expect from the brand, which unfortunately means I’ll be returning them. 😢

If you're accustomed to the original fit with with roomy toe box then you won't like this one. The fit was too tight for me. I will still keep the shoe because I love everything else about them. They just aren't my favorite Altras.

I've had it with Altra. It's definitely a love hate relationship. I love a shoe, they change it,I hate the shoe! It happened with the Torin and now the Experience Flow. I loved my first pair, Being a 1/2 marathon runner I wore them out. I bought a second pair to keep on hand so I was ready when the first pair wore out. By then the changed to experience flow 2. I just unboxed the shoes and have worn them for my last few long runs and they are nothing like the first ones. The toe box is much narrower to the point my toes are rubbing (this has never happended), the tongue of the shoe is so "fat" the shoelaces are too short, and and I'm getting knee and hip pain (which I never have!) Unfortunately, I can't return them as I bought them months before I needed them. Altra you are not consistent with your product and therefore, I'm out! Back to Hokas!

Horrible! Agree with what others said about the tougher and front fabric part of the shoe being extremely low. Never in my life have i experienced that with another shoe. It’s super uncomfortable. Returning immediately

I have to agree with the others on this one! The original Experience Flow shoe was sooo good. They were my first experience with Altras and I loved them from day 1. I finally wore them into the ground and needed to purchase a new pair, so I went with the Flow 2s thinking they would be the same, but sadly they are not at all. The Experience Flow 2s are significantly narrower in the toe box and have an overall tighter fit to them. I have narrow feet, so when a shoe that's marketed to have a wide toe box feels tight on me, that's a problem. I wish Altra would listen to their customers and bring back the original style.

I am a loyal Altra customer. But mostly purchase shoes from other sites or my local running store because the Altra website is a pain! For whatever reason, I often cannot scroll to see all the sizes. For example, I just put a pair of Lone Peaks in my cart (I appreciate the discount!), but I was not able to slide down to my size (9. 5 for running). I had to guess where it was and then confirm in my cart that I got it right. Thanks for listening.

I've been using this shoe for the last few weeks mostly as a gym shoe (HIIT, cardio, etc) but have also run and walked in them a little bit. It seems to perform well for these different movement types. The wide toe box leading back to the snug heel works well for my foot.

I love altra shoes and thought I’d try this model. I did size up 1/2 size. They are comfortable and treat my feet and legs well all day!
