I Love Running And Hiking

I love running and hiking in this shoe. Enough padding to keep your feet alive, yet light enough to not feel heavy on your feet.

Great Shoe

This shoe fits and feels great. I love the wide toebox. It grips great on wet pavement. No need to break it in. Already felt great on day 1. The shoe is comfortable but felt like walking barefoot due to no cushion or cloud feeling insoles and no arch. There is a piece of velcro on the backside of the shoe, where your heel is, does anybody know what it’s for?

Only Shoe I Wear

I have been wearing Lone Peaks for over 10 years. They have a wide toe box for my extra wide foot. They are also super comfortable, provide good support, and are very durable. These are the only shoe I wear to hike, run, lift weights, and use on a daily basis. They have changed over the years, but all for the better.

My Go To Adventure Racing Shoe

Great grip, wide toe box, no high uncomfortable arch (you can add inserts if you need that). Would welcome a version which breathes a bit more... But the current version keeps dust/ debris out when paired with gaiters.

Great Hiking Shoe

I've been wearing Lone Peaks for many years now. Love the wide toe box and zero drop. The traction is great on trails and also for scrambling on rocks. I still prefer my approach shoes for scrambling, but won't sweat it if I happen to have Lone Peaks.

No Break In Period

I received these 4 days before a summer trip to Europe and only had a couple days to wear them before leaving. I had brought a second pair of sneakers but when I tried them I was amazed at how hot my feet were with them on (even though they were light fabric). I switched back to my Altras for the rest of the trip and with 20000+ steps around the cities I never had a single moment of sore hot feet over the full two weeks. Highly recommend! For walking, hiking or general exploring they are exceptional!

Love My Lone Peaks!

These are perfect, no lateral taper at all. Complete freedom for toe splay, nicely secure heel counter n midfoot. Honestly, I wear these for everything, not just hiking. I'll probably buy the 9+ eventually for a secondary pair. I really like the olympus 275 though, those are amazing shoes too.

Great Quality And Buen Camino!

In August 2024, I bought a pair of Altra Lone Peak 7 during my family visit in the United States. After returning to China, I wear it every day. In April and May 2026, I wore it from Seville, Spain, walked through Vía de la Plata, Camino Sanabrés, Santiago de Compostela and finally arrived at Fisterra. The whole journey was 1055 kilometers and took 35 days. I didn't have a single blister on my feet. These shoes are really great! When I started from Seville, I was always worried about whether the sole pattern could last until Santiago de Compostela was not polished. But my worries are obviously unnecessary! My next pair of outdoor shoes must be lone Peak!

Greatest Shoe I’ve Got Yet

Amazing shoe that fits my feet perfectly. Walking on a cloud so good feels great. Get it just buy it

A Bit Overwhelmed

Would love a more streamlined tool to help find the best shoes to match my intended purpose

Best Shoes Ever

I bought these after wearing Solomon shoes for many years. These are incredible. I love them and they're the best trail runners I've ever used. Perfect fit, Love the big toe box and zero drop. 10/10. Changing my brand loyalty to Altra.

The Best!

Hands down an overall comfortable fit. The space in the tow box helps promote comfort and reduce fatigue

My Daily Go To Shoe

I have two pair of these. I rotate through them running in them daily for the past few years. They are great on gravel trails, technical trails, and I even use them occasionally on roads. love the wide toebox and the low profile. I would work into them gradually if this is your first time in a low shoe.

Lone Peak 8 (Not 9) Review: Phenomenal!

This is my 3rd pair of lone peaks. They're hands down the comfiest, grippiest, most versatile shoes I've ever owned. My toes can splay; the zero drop prevents strain in my forefoot on long walks; the grip lets me run and jump across rocks with confidence. I can walk 15-25 miles with zero pain or discomfort. I've never owned a better pair of shoes. The ONLY downside is that they're not waterproof, but in all fairness, I tried the waterproof version of these (and 3 other waterproof models/brands), and nothing was able to hold up in sustained heavy downpours, so I really can't fault the lone peaks on that frontier. I don't run in my shoes, but my last pair of lone peaks lasted me 2 years of heavy walking use. Hundreds of miles. They still look practically new, which is wild; it's just that the traction does eventually wear down, and though I wish I could simply get them resoled with a new vibram grip, I've not yet found a way to do that, so I opted for a new pair.

Fantastic Fit Mid Manufacturing

Summary: Great fitting shoe I'll 100% be getting again. Seems like it will wear out fast if used moderately or heavily, get some shoe goo and you'll go far. Pros - Amazing fit for my flat wide feet that have practically no arch - Grip on slick rocky surfaces is solid on the trail - Perfect amount of cushioning if you're on your feet all day. Cons - Had to glue down the material peeling on top after only two days of wear. Fit - I went half a size down and wide to get the best fit for my feet. 12 -> 11.5 wide. This still left enough room at the toe, ~1/2", for those downhills.
