Great Formy Use

I use these for daily 3-5 mile runs. I usually wear minimimus shoes but currently do a lot of running on concrete, so these are great to add some cushion without a massive change.

I Like The Upper And

I like the upper and attachment system, my foot doesn't slip. Foam is pretty hard but that's what I'm looking for in a trainer I mostly use for speed work.

Great Feel - Low Durability

This is my third pair of Escalates. I love the fit and feel of these shoes. Unfortunately the lining in the latest pair is tearing after a month.

Men's Altra Escalante 4

Another awesome shoe from altra. Light shoe to hit the gym or a quick run around the block. I love the zero drop and also the big toe box, your toes have some room to stretch out.

Heal Pocket Wore Through And

Heal pocket wore through and had holes after 3 months of light wear. Asked Altra about it and heard nothing. I’m not sure if I got a lemon pair but can’t recommend with my experience.

I Am An Avid Altra

I am an avid Altra runner, I’ve run in them for years. Escalante is my favorite line, this pair specifically feels like it runs a little big for the size. These are perfect for an everyday shoe, an easy trainer. The only downside, is that I wouldn’t cross train in this model, unless you bought half a size smaller. I feel my toes rubbing against the bottom in a lunge or a push-up

Great All Around Shoe

The toe box is big but it doesn't feel like my foot is sliding all over the place. Great for walking all day and my 3 mile runs. Just the right amount of cushion. And no next day flare ups of my plantar fascitis.

Very Comfortable (Minor Inconveniences)

These shoes are very comfortable; there's no doubt about that. It's like walking almost barefoot! They weigh next to nothing. But there are some negatives that could be addressed in future releases. 1. Tongue Movement. The tongue is not really attached near the top of the shoe, and this causes the tongue to slide left or right very easily. Minor annoyance. 2. Inner Heel Damage. I've owned these shoes for 6 months now and starting around 2 months in a started to notice some wear on the inner heal. Now there is a pretty big hole at that spot on both of my shoes. I expected to get a little more longevity out of these shoes and I really want to love them because they are so comfortable but I can't justify spending the money if they will just break down every few months.

They LIED about the shoe being black. it is not black. thanks for selling me shoes and LYING to me about them. I'm definitely going to be a repeat customer after you CHEATED ME. GREAT BUSINESS DECISION!!!!

Thiene Shoes Are Really Light

Thiene shoes are really light and comfortable, working on my feet all day feel like a breeze!

Great Everyday Shoe

I use this as my daily wear shoe. I bought into the 0 drop hype for foot and leg health and so far it's been holding up. The only thing holding me back from a 5 star is I'm not crazy for the tongue, it's a bit thin, so sometimes when I ratchet the laces down for HIIT sessions with sprints I feel pressure in the top of my foot if I don't loosen it up afterwards, but otherwise these are amazing and they don't have the annoying squeak problem of the Escalante 3!

Liked The Shoe But Issues.

The main issue I had with these is that the back of the shoe fell apart rather quickly. My 3's never had this problem at all. I'm thinking the material went cheap and just doesn't hold up. The tongue is also a little thin, could feel the tightness of the laces on the top of my foot. Just a little more padding and this would be fixed. Worried about buying another Altra as a lot of reviews show that the next revision seems worse than the previous. Love the toe box though.

Go Back To The Old Design

I've been buying the Escalante since 2018 as I have surgically corrected feet, and they are the only shoes with zero drop, a wide toe box, and enough cushioning. To echo other comments, seemingly in an attempt to make the shoe "cool," it's gotten worse and less functional. Less cushioning in the sides and heel, the toe box is narrower (this is a big part of the functionality of the shoe), and shoelaces that don't stay tied. The thing is, I'm still going to buy them, but please go back to the design of the 2s and even 3s.

Favorite Altra Shoe Every.

I've put many miles and a few years on my current pair. They are still like new. I'm buying a few more before they're no longer available.

Everything I Wanted In A Shoe And From Altra

My second pair of Altras. My first was the FWD Experience which was a great shoe but I did not enjoy the heel of the Standard fit but overall loved the toe box, foam, laces and quality (I've worn those shoes so much and they're still holding up). This shoe is the exact balance of stack height, cushion, responsiveness, space and fit that I was looking for. Likely going to continue ordering this line of shoe. I wouldn't mind an option for a slight heel drop for those of us standing and walking all day for work.
