Review Of The Thule T2 Pro Xtr

Just bought this rack to replace my 4-bike North Shore rack. That was a nice bike carrier but my wife could not lift her E-Bike above her shoulders to load. So, sold that and bought the Thule T2 Pro XTR. Really nice carrier. Well built and looks good. I heard Thule is discontinuing this rack. I do not understand why. Integrated wheels for mobility, a separate lock for each bike mount and easy installation onto the hitch mount. What’s not to like?

Great Rack With Small Shortcomings

I bought this rack a month ago. It is sturdy and by two Mountain bike do not wobble.it is heavy and the wheels are a good addition even if not suite for our gravel entrance. Sad thing is the locking cable is too short and I can't lock the frame but just through the front shock. A low point is the a hex screws underneath which I had to adjust 3 times so they striped since the provided hex key seems to not go deep enough.

Sturdy And Easy To Mount Bikes

Took it on a couple of long drives. Held our 2 bikes very well. Easy to set up and attach bikes. Couple of minor things to call out that I didn't love but don't really take away from the rating. 1) location of the locks, are a little challenging 2) when the rack is folded up you can't see the license place on the car. Other than that, I think the value of transporting my bikes safely exceeds the minor inconveniences.

Easy To Use!

Great bike rack! Had a different rack on my car, so took a bit to get use to. But very easy and works really well for a gravel bike. A little longer than my other and definitely scrape the rack coming out of parking lots ( I have a RAV4) but overall happy with it.

Easy to assemble and install on to our car. Seems very sturdy.

Mounts easily, a bit bulky to move but very secure on the vehicle

Fits A Wide Variety Of Bikes

I purchased this rack a month or so ago to replace the same one I’ve been using for a couple years. My original one some one destroyed by hitting g it with there truck. Fits my needs perfectly allowing my fat bike in the winter and normal bikes in the summer. I’m a big fan of this rack.

Same good bike rack that I have purchased in the past, but this time, it seems like the ''horizontal position'' of the rack was off and leaned toward the car a bit. We ruled out the hitch since it was the same as previous and no bend seem to be within the connecting arm of the Thule rack. See photos

Missing Some Parts And Manual.

I was missing half of my washers for assembly, no manual or instructions for setup and key barrels were challenging to slide in. I did find help on a youtube search for the setup.

Great Product

Easy to install Got 4 bikes on it on my first trip (+1000km) and everything is steady !

Bombproof, Zero Sway, Feels Very Robust.

I absolutely love this thing, I've been using it all spring and early summer and it felt like it was time for a review. It fits my longish (2025 Santa Cruz Hightower size L) bike w/o hanging off the edge, and there is almost zero sway in the rack system. It's got great departure angle on our 5th gen Outback, and folds up nicely when not in used. This is my 3rd Thule tray rack, i've gotten longevity out of each of them. This one feels like the most robust version to date, and is a lot easier to use than some of the competitors (imho) like 1Up.

The Thule straps are way to small for fat tires bikes.

Great Design Very Robust And Well Thought Out

Super easy to install and use. Moves between vehicles nicely with the wheels. Holds my heavy e-bikes just fine and I don’t notice them driving. Very secure and I love the built in locks. Top notch item well worth it.

Lock Is A Joke

Excellent quality of construction, insane for bike, but Thule only provide a super small lock to secure and with only 1 hole on the hitch part you can’t secure with the usual rod and lock like on trailer… what happen is everybody in my neighborhood is getting those stollen once in a while even if driveway because the lock is so easy to brute force. Had to go back to my old Thule with standard hitch lock

Simple And It Works.

We replaced an older version of this rack from Thule, so far we are very happy. The rack is much lighter than the old version and fits longer wheel based bikes. The release handle works great and the locking mechanism on the wheel arms feel secure. So far a great rack after a few months of use on the road.
