Very Comfy Good Ankle Support

Super happy with these shoes. The size runs a little small, I usually am a true 38 but it definitely feels a size down. I realised my other salomons are a 40. It took a while and some blisters to break them in. But once I got there they have been great.

Great Shoe

I am an avid runner in the Colorado mountains. I like steep and uneven terrain. The Speedcross 5 felt a bit different from the Speedcross 4 that I have come to know and love. Right out o the gate on my first 6 mile trail run with about 1700 to 2000 feet of elevation gain I noticed a much higher arch. I was happy to say I had no blisters although the higher arch and more supportive sole was a bit different and I think I like the difference as I could tell it was a more substantial running shoe. Although I have a fairly flat arch I felt it throughout my run but not in a bad way and I didn’t have any arch pain afterwards. It was only my first run but I would say keep an open mind as at first I was “oh my god they changed it” and ended with “hmm.. this may be a better shoe for me”. Good luck and keep running. Salomon has been a favorite of mine for trail racing for years and it keeps getting better. I am going to put my faith in Salomon and keep on trucking with the Speedcross 5!

Great Looking With Extreme Tread.

I love the look of this shoe. I have found the traction of the tread good for outside on dirt but can be a bit slippy on tiles or indoor when shoes are wet. If you are short you will love the extra lift as the tread is very deep. I hate the laces. It takes longer to unhook the little handle and slide out the plastic thing to undo and then to slide the thing down and tuck in than to just tie and untie my shoes normally.
