Technically Capable- "All In One"

These boots are so tech you'll be fine in any condition! It's the "all in one" boot. They are comfortable out of the box. Once I had them on trail I knew the R&D team put so many features into this boot. I do have the 2024 edition and they improved the toe box to have more cushion under foot, the heel is also more comfortable, snug and also has better cushioning. When walking on rocks I can tell the rock-plate under foot is strong because you barely feel any pointy objects piercing like you would in a trail runner. The weight of the boot is light underfoot and the sole is grippy and you won't slide out. I'de say the fit is close to perfect, nothing hurts, foot doesn't slide around, no heel lift and the toes have enough room where nothing pinches. It's made with Gortex and has an insulated interior that breathes well and keeps it cool. So far my longest hike has been 8mi and I can't wait to wear them in winter conditions to put it to the waterproof, resistant test. Overall, I would recommend them and it's money well spent.

Not As Good As 360 Climasalomon

Coming from a pair of 360’s with ClimaSalomon waterproofing that I bought in 2024. I like the new boots but the last pair were perfect for my feet. These feel like they have too much room in the mid section which could be attributed to the Goretex inner component that feels ‘slippery’. The older boot spoiled me and was probably the best shoe/boot that I have owned. However, the tread seems more durable with this new option, and I love the additional protection from ‘toe stubs’ which are unavoidable in the rocky trails that I frequent.

Poor Quality

shoes made noise with every step out of the box Ita unclear if it's the goretex liner or the weird pleather that serves as a gusset around the tongue. Either way it was loud enough to be noticable and irritating. Also the flatbed isn't in the same position as the x ultra 4, as the instep seems to have shifted forward and doesn't fit my foot at all anymore. Returned them and won't be buying any more Salomon as this was paid 3 in a row that I've returned due to manufacturing/design issues, and had 2 defective boots under the warranty policy the last few years too.

Seam Have Split

Had these 2 days covered less than 10 miles and the seam have split. Very disappointing

Almost Perfect.

The boots themselves are excellent: lightweight, with very good grip on uneven terrain. However, for people with narrow feet, the vertical internal volume (the space between the toes and the Gore-Tex/textile material) is quite generous. This means the foot doesn’t fully fill the interior and it can feel as if the boots are slightly too large. I had to use an additional insole, taken from the Salomon X Ultra 3 model. With two insoles, the fit and comfort are completely different. As a suggestion for Salomon: either consider a redesign for future models or include an extra insole (some brands like Salewa do this). Otherwise, the sizing is spot on (42 fits exactly as a 42—neither a 42.5 nor a 43). I fully recommend these boots; the quality is exceptional. They are ideal for people with a standard foot shape. For those with a narrower fit, it would be helpful to offer a ‘Regular’ or ‘Narrow’ version, similar to how the X Ultra 5 Wide exists for wider feet.
