I’ve been wearing Salomon for over 20 years. For my foot type (medium arch, normal width) the shoes have been excellent for me. I’ve gotten years of enjoyment from previous models; currently loving the X Ultra 5 Mid. I’ve logged in between 350 and 400 miles in the nine months I’ve own these shoes. They’ve held up great!

I bought these as a replacement to my previous Exeo miss. I wanted something a bit wider for my feet now I'm a bit older. These are perfect and are good quality. Hoping they stay waterproof over the coming autumn and winter seasons.

Really like the design. Traction was fantastic. They broke in and got very comfortable at about 40 miles. At 55 miles, both boots suffered identical failures of the stitching on the fabric seam halfway up the boot on the inside of the foot. I had another 40 miles to go and they made it, but I will never wear them again as I can no longer trust them. This is the first pair of Salomon boots I have ever owned, and unfortunately the last. I've never experienced a failure like this with so few miles.

I got these shoes 3-4 weeks ago and have done a couple of easy hikes. But wow this shoe makes such a difference especially being my first pair of official hiking shoes.

I have plantar fasciitis and I was loosing mobility quickly. I work in the hospitality industry and I average 20,000 steps a night at work. I've tried every brand of industry shoes to help with the pain. I have tried runners shoes, nursing shoes, shoes made by chefs, shoes made for servers and all of them failed in some way or another. This was a hail mary last chance at finding something that worked before I just changed industries entirely. This pair of boots fixed every problem I was having with plantar fasciitis and now I don't limp at the end of my shift anymore. I know, they are not actually slip resistant, but they are pretty dang close to it. That is the only downside I can find, but they are not advertised as such. Still, they do a great job on the wet floors of a kitchen despite not being slip resistant. If your feet hurt at the end of a shift and you have tried everything else like I did without any success, do try these boots as they were a game changer for me! Five out of five stars. Ten out of ten stars! Best boots I have ever worn.

Haven't stepped outside with them yet. May have to return them. Every step creates a strange crunchy flopping noise as the toe of the boots flex. Not sure if it will disappear over time or get worse. The noise originates from just behind the toe box and occurs on both boots when you walk and the toe area flexes. the noise is there when you flex the boot in your hands and its even louder when your feet are in the voots and your walking. Noise occurs in all types of floor surfaces.its definitely the boot as the toe area flexes and you step off.

Prior to these I was using an entry level hiking shoe. Big difference! Give great support and protection but much lighter, breathes better and more durable. Highly recommend.

Not Salomon's fault this 11.5 was not made for a narrow foot (even with another company's insoles/inserts). Disappointed though that the upper's seam with the tongue dug into my ankles. An expensive boot that I wont be able to take with me to Yosemite.

I bought these about a month ago and I've probably done 50km in them, on mixed terrain (road, fields, forests, steep hills - some rocky etc.). I love them! They are so comfortable, they grip well, they're showing no signs of wear (I know it's early days but I've had hiking boots that tore on their first outing) and I feel my ankles are supported enough. I can't attest to how waterproof they are - the British Summer is unusually dry - but I feel confident my feet will stay dry. I'm surprised by how much my feet aren't sweating too. I can't recommend these highly enough - I've bought my wife a pair of the X Ultra Alpine Mid's and she's just as impressed.
