Does Not Work To Protect

Does not work to protect the bite valve since it fits too loosely and falls off almost immediately after putting it in.

Hard To Attach To Nipple.

Hard to attach to nipple. It leaves a gap and makes the nipple loose

Essential Item

This does what it needs to nicely. But I resent having to pay extra for something that should have come as standard. Who wants their bite valve dragging in the dirt every time you take your rucksack off

Essential Addition For Any Rambler

The bite valve works beautifully but should really be a part of the reservoir kit, not an additional purchase!

The Instructions Were Easy To

The instructions were easy to read and it fit my bite valve good. The design helps to keep the bug spray off my son’s bite valve when we’re on a hike.

This Is A Very Critical

This is a very critical part, essential for keeping your bite valve clean. It should not be an add on accessory. It should also perform it's purpose. It does not. The design doesn't allow for the cap to stay in place. Osprey does so many things right with their gear, this is an uncharacteristic fail. It does not need to continue to be one, it must be addressed. No one wants to put a dirty bite valve in their mouth. You guys are better than this, fix it. Thank you.

How Do I Put On The Bite Cover For The Hydraulics Lt Reservoir

Please provide a how to for placing the bite cover on the bite valve. If I use REI instructions it looks like I'm to remove the bite valve sheath, that doesn't work. Removing the sheath and valve doesn't work. It does not snap in place and actually pushes the sheath out of place. I'm also disappointed in the plastic holder thingy, what the heck is it for. I've been a long time product user, can't say I'm happy with the current product model

This Thing Is Infuriating.

for the past hour, instead of packing for my trip, i have been trying to install this cover onto my bite valve. it will not budge, and although some other reviews make it out to be really easy to install, I cannot for the life of me get it on, and i can't even see how it's possible to sit flush like it was obviously intended to. There just isn't enough room within the ring to fit the soft part, but since I can't fit it, it won't sit flush with the red plastic bit. There are no instructions, none of this is obvious. Save your time and money.

It Doesn’t Stay On To

It doesn’t stay on to cove the bite valve. So it’s pointless and useless.

Your Old Design Was Better

These new bite valves for the hydraulics reservoirs don’t click in like the previous generation. The cover constantly falls off. Needs a redesign unfortunately.

Doesn’t Fit.

I have the newest generation hydrualics reservoir and the bit valve cover is simply loose. It is not a snug fit as advertised. Even though the bite valve box clearly mentions the compatibility.

Does Not Fit On Old Models

I have a Hydraulics LT 2.5L (~2022) with original bite valve (not this new one) and it is not compatible. That’s fine. Havent tested it with the new valve, but I guess I have to get one now… the problem is that the advertising is false! The packaging says that it is compatible with Hydraulics. That’s why I bought it in the store. If Hydraulics LT is a different thing, they need to say so! Or fix their product branding if they’re making their new line incompatible with the old line.

Use Hot Water To Get The Hose Off

The ONLY way to get this thing on is to soak the hose end (with the mouthpiece) in hot water... that makes the hose pliable enough to pull off. If it isn't working, let it sit longer or make the water hotter. (I had to microwave the water for about 2 minutes.) After sliding on the cover, soak the hose again in the same hot water. I opted to shake off the excess water. Immediately, slide it back onto the mouthpiece all the way up - as far as it goes. Also, I have no idea how the hot water will affect the mouthpiece... so after I slid it on and put it back together, I did not touch it. So the materials can cool without warping. (In theory.) Only Complaint: There are zero instructions on the box. GOOD LUCK! Note: I have the new Osprey Hydraulics 3L. (2024)

Does Not Fit (Particularly With New Systems)

I have the newest hydration reservoir system (Osprey CS please don’t attribute the lack of fitting to this issue) and this cover does not fit. It’s not a nice snug fit like my last system. Time to go back to the drawing board Osprey.

Bite Cover

I can't find any instructions online on how to install the Hydraulics Bite Valve Cover. There was no info on the box. How do I install this please?
