I had the original Stretchdown for years I loved that jacket. It was time to get a new one so when I received the updated model of the Stretchdown I immediately didn't like it. Compared to the old one the loft and puffiness felt so much less substantial. It felt very flat even after giving it time to loft out of the package. The Stretchdown material itself also felt weirdly crinkly? The old stretchdown was this nice sleek soft fabric this felt to the touch like cheap paper. The fit is strange. It's small at the shoulders and billowy at the bottom. I tried 2 sizes and both of them were odd. I saw another guy walking around with the same jacket and same thing the bottom part of the jacket looked too long/big. I don't know why they changed it but I returned this in favor of the Ghost Whisperer and I like the Ghost Whisperer better because the fit makes more sense.

First off the color is nothing like the picture. More of a navy blue rather than the bright blue in the photo. The sleeves are long and the cuffing on the sleeve is weird and doesn't have enough elasticity to keep the wind out, okay if you are wearing gloves. The arm holes are also weird and rub my armpits awkwardly. I got medium and im 5'9" 175 lbs

I bought one of these jackets a few years ago and liked it so much that I just got another one. Fits well, not too bulky but with great insulation, handy pockets to keep a toque or gloves ready to go. The last jacket held up well through several washes as well.

Don’t get these down filled jackets where the stitchings are staggered. Three down will eventually travel down and your shoulder and chest areas will not have significant insulation.

Got this about a month ago on a really good sale, perfect because I was planning on gettting one before. Great jacket, smooth exterior, somewhat slim fitting wrist cuffed and adjustable waist

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this jacket to be my new everyday "throw-it-on-and-go" jacket, to replace my Nano Puff (drank too much beer and it shrunk in the middle, devastated.) I was just going to get another Nano Puff but decided to branch out. I loved my old jacket in every way so the only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because I am comparing it to that. Overall, I am perfectly pleased with this jacket, its very warm but not too hot, light-weight but a bit heavier and bulkier than the Nano Puff. I'm not a huge fan of the double zipper as it adds just that little bit of complexity to the task of zippin' up, BUT I am well aware than when the cases arise that I can use the double zip, I'll be glad I have it. I miss the interior breast pocket but then I remember that I have the same functionality with the exterior one on this jacket. I love that the baffles are woven, not stitched because the there are no threads to catch on branches whatever. Overall a very comfortable and warm coat to be my new Everyday Wearer and I am perfectly pleased with it as a replacement for my Nano Puff.

I ordered the brown color. The armpits and neck stained almost immediately, despite never sweating in this jacket. I am returning and purchasing a jacket made out of different material.

This is my go to jacket for skiing, camping, dog walks and anything else outside in moderately cold weather. I would wear it for yard work/farm work except that it looks great too and I don't want to spoil that.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Perfect, in every way - fit, form, & function. Fit is outstanding, perhaps best describes as athletic. Form checks all of the boxes, most importantly- plenty of pockets. Can’t speak to function as of yet, since it hasn’t left the house yet but, gauging by everything else thus far, I’m sure it will not disappoint.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is my 3rd jacket in this series, replaced about every 4 years. The zipper is a little different in this generation with the dual zip. Warmth is the same, if not better, and can be worn in just about any setting.

The Stretchdown jacket from last season is one of my all-time favorite jackets. It works for everything. It fits great, it has a perfect pocket arrangement, the zippers are color matched, the arms are gusseted, the fabric is stretchy but not shiny, etc. This new version takes one step forward and a couple back. MH made big improvements in the construction quality, adding bar-tacks and finished seams everywhere, plus beefier zippers. It's especially noticeable on the interior drop pocket. The old version feels cheap in comparison. What I dislike are the raglan sleeves and the overall fit. The new arms are not gusseted and the rounded shoulders look terrible. Raglan sleeves on a puffy coat make you look like a gorilla. The fit was also changed so that the body and upper arms are way bigger than the old version. This might benefit some people, but it's not for me at 5'10" and 175lb.

Replaced a defective version from last year under warranty. Comfortable, like the addition of the exterior chest pocket. Typically wear a Medium, but was a bit snug—this one is a Large and the cut is a little generous, but should accommodate sweaters. Overall, very pleased with the product and can only say great things about the MH warranty service.
