I picked this up as I was getting into indoor climbing. It works great. It was super easy to figure out. After reading some reviews, I was nervous about it being a challenge to operate, but it really couldn't be easier.

Super Light-weight, Simple, Easy-to-use, Works As Designed
We've been using this as a belay device at the local climbing gym as well as on outdoor climbs. The Smart 2.0 is super light weight, very simple/easy to use, works great as a belay device, and has an auto catch built into the geometry. My family said they like using this device more than the Gri-Gri because of those previously mentioned reasons. Oh, it's also way cheaper than a Gri-Gri which is nice if people don't want to share devices. No complaints so far after using mine for over a year. I love lightweight simple gear that works. Mammut did it right with this device.

Love It
I have had the 1.0 for almost 10 years. 2.0 has the same quality feel and improved control allowing for better feed control when dealing with heavier weights and tricky situations

I Love This Belay Device!
Super simple to operate, uses physics and not mechanical devices, makes it easier to train yourself in high stress conditions, where tactile small motor skills can degrade. Would recommend to novice and experienced climbers.
