Comfortable and light, but not the same wide toe box Keen is famous for. That has always been the biggest reason I purchased Keen.

I bought a pair of these for my trip to Alaska. I tried multiple boots, most were much more expensive. I wanted a shoe that wasn't as stiff as a dedicated backpacking boot, but could still do the job. These boots were amazing. The best I have worn. These boots were so comfortable, it felt like I was wearing my expensive running shoes. I wore them in the rain and walked in creeks. They stayed waterproof and comfortable. I highly recommend.

Will not be buying again. My feet are killing me after 1 week of wearing these at work…. Wish I could return, waste of money!

One of the softest and most comfortable shoes that I have owned right out of the box!!!

I purchased these for work because traditional work boots are just too hot in the summer heat

I needed a wide shoe and these have become my daily go to shoe. I got the wide hightops and sized them up 1/2 to deal with my foot issue ( a bunion that essentially widens my foot). They feel like sneakers, and I've literally been able to run in them when needed (e. g. airport :-). I wish they'd offer another wide color but tan. Also, I tried on the lowtops and they didn't feel as good, not sure why. But love the ones I have!

I love these shoes/boots. Great hybrid between running shoe and offroad boot. My only issue is that the toe box is much narrower than some of the other boots (Durand, Targhee), and maybe a little shorter. I cannot wear these shoes as my toes are cramped and it feels like my toes are hitting a part of the boot wrong. You might try and size up. But if width is an issue, I would avoid these. It is a shame, as they quality and build is great.

I bought these in october of 2025, its now april 2026. There is a hole worn throught the outer mesh and waterproof lining just from walking, right where my pinky toe is. Also the insole is flatter than a sheet of paper and its only been 6 months. The rest of the boot is fine but if you plan on regularly heavy hiking, i dont recomend these.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My wife says if a pair of shoes or boots does not feel good from the moment you put them on you should not buy them! These boots are very comfortable with legendary Keen quality.

As soon as I tried them on I knew they were perfect. Waterproof option is worth the money but I do wish the price point was a little lower. Otherwise great boot.

1st time I laced them up the top eyelet clip pulled out making the shoe too untieable

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Great looking shoes but unfortunately my foot has been in a cast so haven’t had a chance to wear them. At least one shoe fits great

I tried this Keen hiking boot because it was slightly more stylish than the Salomon X Ultra. However, the cushioning is lacking. The feel of the shoe doesn’t align with the appearance of a sneaker-inspired hiking boot. It felt like stepping into a bowl instead of a cushioned footbed. I tried different insoles, but the issue persisted. I attribute this to poor design.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had previously reviewed the Targhee III as my favorite Keen boot, and it was until I bought the Hightrail boot at REI. The Keen Hightrail Hiking boot is my new favorite daily Keen boot. I've owned the Targhee, II, III, and IV. For me the Hightrail is the most comfortable and best fitting out of all of them for daily wear. I need a boot that's versatile in the fall, winter, and spring and can go from walking the dogs on concrete sidewalks, to the office, and light to moderate hiking. All in various weather like rain and snow. And the Hightrail is perfect for that. It's very lightweight and incredibly comfortable, almost like a running shoe. Very similar to my Keen Versicore Speed shoes that I wear in the summer. The toebox is slimmer than the Targhee so I had to go with a wide size to get the same roomy toebox. I wanted the Dark Earth/Oak Buff color but the only color available in wide is Brindle/Oak Buff. It's a nice neutral color so I'm happy with it. The traction seems great so far and I can walk the dogs on concrete sidewalks for miles without any foot or shin pain issues like I had with the Targhee's due to their harder outsole. Which is great for hiking and backpacking, but not urban environments. That's where the Hightrail shines. Overall, the Hightrail is a great all-around hiking boot that I wear every day in the fall/winter/spring.
