Love my garmin

Love this product been through several of them paired with a varia radar taillight it’s an absolutely necessary pair of safety equipment.

Garmin Edge And Garmin Connect Do Not Agree!

The Edge 1040 has great battery life. I am well versed in using it and moving it from bike to bike. It has two flaws. First, it does not connect to an Apple Watch - I use the garmin chest strap for HR and it works great but is uncomfortable. Second, The Edge recalculates route information it receives from Garmin Connect. This results in dramatically conflicting data all within the Garmin ecosystem system. There is not one truth! I was uploading a route on Alpe D’Huez and Connect said a 3800 foot climb and the Edge recalculated it to 8,000 foot climb. It did this multiple times, I did a factory reset and it still was wrong. (The correct height is 3800 feet.) When this fails I will likely look away from Garmin

Has It All!

This computer has it all! Every feature I track is right there, easy to program, clear displays. Would recommend with no question.

My Buggy & Error-prone 1040

The tocuh screen is not reliable. Sometimes it works, other times it does not. The other scary problem is taht pretty frequently, the 1040 does not power up. This also happens when you need to shut it down. The boot up process is unreliable & inconsistent. I am up to date with all software updtes. The device is so buggy. By far my worst Garmin device I have ever had. And I have had plenty of Garmin devices.

Wish I Had Not Waited This Makes My Riding Easier

Love this more than the other two Garmin's that I have used. Love the screen size as it makes it less challenging for me to see the numbers when I am moving. My eyesight is not the best so this makes it easier to not have to either slow down or be distracted. Amazed how all of my sensors automatically were detected when I was setting up the unit when it arrived. Only knock I would have is my Varia I have to turn it on where with my 530 it always turned it on for me, but that it really not an issue, just something that I have to either remember or stop shortly after I start when I realize that I forgot.

Love My Garmin

I never ride my bike without my Garmin 1040. It tells me speed, time, distance, lets me answer phone calls, tells me direction. I totally love it! Plus along with my other Garmin device I know when cars are nearby. Totally love it

Great Bike Computer

I’ve been using the Garmin Edge 1040 for quite a while now, and overall I’ve been very happy with it. The battery life is excellent—I can go on several rides without worrying about charging it. I also really like the user interface. The menus are easy to navigate, and it’s simple to find the features and data I need while riding. My biggest complaint is the syncing process with Garmin Connect. Sometimes it takes a long time for my rides to upload, and I have to turn Bluetooth off and back on before it will finally sync. It’s not a dealbreaker, but it can definitely be frustrating after a ride. Overall, it’s a fantastic cycling computer with great battery life and an easy-to-use interface. If Garmin could improve the reliability and speed of the Bluetooth syncing, it would be close to perfect.

Don’t Buy It! Garmin Edge 1040

Disappointed. The Garmin edge 1040 has consisted issues with the auto upload feature to Garmin connect and strava. No amount of troubleshooting solves the issue.

Great Tool

This is a great tool to use while riding. The size and clarity of the display is excellent. Also, the ability to configure multiple pages is fantastic. I use it on every ride and have 6 or 7 screens setup based on the bike I am using.

Could Be Better

After 3 years of purchase battery seems to drain faster and recharge time takes a long time considering other Garmin products do not. Recently, the audio alerts for heart rate, speed/pace and navigation turn audio prompts do not work. Support has escalated the issue with a diagnostic log to no avail. Support in the past has been good, but this one is lagging. I sometimes question updates that seem to break something and fixed with a future update. Otherwise, the Edge 1040 works well.

Edge 1040 Is An Amazing Cycling Computer

Edge 1040 is a great cycling computer - amazing battery life! Great features.

Great Display Size, But Quirky Connectivity

I really like the edge 1040. The display size is great to see all the data at a glance. The primary issue I have with any garmin device is the awkward blue tooth connectivity, sometime you have to remove a devise and re-add it for the garmin to recognize it and connect.

Big Screen. Lots Of Data

Large easy to read screen. GPS acquires quickly, sensors recognized quickly and easily.

I bought 1 month ago and feel so happy. This mini computer help me a lot.
