Game Changer For The Early Morning Backcountry Starts

I have been using cheap headlamps for years. . . finally invested in this product and it has changed the game. The lighting is incredible, the power tap feature is really cool, and the battery has been very reliable. It is also nice to start the day with a charge versus having throw-away battery powered lights and always wondering if you are going to have enough juice. Love it.

Black Diamond Distant 1500 Headlamp—bright, Versatile, And Pricey

Having used many headlamps over the years—including the original Black Diamond Icon and all its upgrades—I can confidently say the Black Diamond Distant Headlamp stands out as a top-tier option. It’s brighter and more versatile than most, with adjustable lighting modes and easy dimming to conserve battery life. The rugged, weatherproof design feels well-made, and I’m hoping the headband holds up better than previous models, where the straps failed too quickly. It’s definitely on the expensive side, and the extra battery I purchased wasn’t cheap either. However, since I use a headlamp frequently, having a spare battery allows me to swap them out without downtime. If you need a high-performance headlamp and are willing to pay a premium for brightness, durability, and versatility, this one is worth considering.
