Perfect For 2 Person Camping.

It worked perfectly and is easy to set up and tear down in a rush. Had some hard days of abuse from Pa to Mt this year. For 2 people plus light gear inside to keep dry it was the perfect size

Big Agnes Blacktail 3

Very nice tent, great you can run it any of three ways. Waterproofing is good, weight is reasonable, plenty of room for 2 people and gear or 3 people and less gear. A little heavy for solo backpacking but that's not what it's meant for. Split the weight between you and your pals and away ya go.

Love This Tent

Love this tent for camping with the family. Doesnt cost an arm and a leg so you can let the kids have fun in it.

Quality Tent

Good quality materials and zippers. The tent is very easy for a beginner to set up. Even the rain fly is color coordinated to the tent buckles, so you don't spend time figuring out its orientation. I think it strikes a good balance, being both a tent for car camping and for backpacking trips.

Lightweight, Strong, Waterproof

Used this at Lindville gorge wilderness area. Backpack camping. 1 mile to campsite and this tent is light. Tent is strong and waterproof, it rained and stormed all weekend. None of the water leaked in. Im 6'2" and i fit really well with my 2 younger boys. I wouldnt want to fit 3 grown men though. Great ventilation, but also retains good heat. Overall probably the best 3 person tent, especially for backpacking under $300.

All Set Up Within 10 Minutes, Light Weight

it has a great design that make it feels very roomy. set up is super easy and. used it for a 10 days camping trip and it still look like new. (humid weather but no rain) i like that we can use it without the fly so we can sleep under the stars. the window added a good ventilation so it was airy inside the tent. my partner is 6ft tall he didnt feel it was too short for him. i got it for a good price so i am thinking to get the footprint of it. (maybe that's why it is discounted) there is a little fiber got hooked and created a tiny hole at the base of the tent. thats why i give 4 stars. also, shipping was later than expected so there was not enough time to get another one. that hole is tiny like a needle pin so we will see when will that need a fix with gear aid

Nice Tent. Not Ultralight.

Used it to camp at the bottom of the Grand Canyon. Easy put up and take down. Well made. Certainly not ultralight at 6 pounds, but the Ultralite was twice the price. Could have more internal pockets for storage and the flap retainers/hold opens could be improved.

Second Purchase!

I use this as a car camping tent for up to 2 people. I have used the version of it with the larger vestibule for gear storage as well. That's part of the reason I also bought this one- I'm familiar with it and I just needed another one. Great product, has all the features I want, durable, waterproof, easy to set up. Thanks for making a great tent!

Everglades Sucess

We used this tent in the Everglades. It was amazing thank you for a beautiful and amazing product.

Roomy

Love the vestibule and room. Like most tents it's really a two person.

Great Tent.

Held up well in the Louisiana backcountry. Stayed dry in a light rain and dewy morning. Comfortable with two people. It's the usual not really intended for 3. Pretty light and packed well.

I camped all over Alaska this summer with this tent. Easy to set up, light weight, rugged, and has plenty of room for one person and gear.

Spacious, Lightweight, And Easy To Set Up!

I bought the Big Agnes Blacktail 3 earlier this summer and I love it! Its much more spacious than my 12 year old Marmot Limelight 3 person tent, especially at the head and feet thanks to the bend in the poles that allows them to go more straight up from the ground for a couple of feet before starting to bend toward the top of the dome. It also just has a lot of square footage for a 3 person tent, so there is plenty of space for me, another person and my dog. In my experience tents are always quite snug when you put the maximum number of people recommended in them so when shopping for a tent I've found that just assuming one of those "people" is a dog works out well and has helped me size my tents more comfortably, but I do think this is more of a true 3 person tent, but I haven't put that to the test yet. Overall really happy with this tent, not only is it larger than my old Marmot, it's also significantly lighter, just as easy to set up and I can already tell that the zippers are going to hold up better, that is what finally failed on my Marmot and encouraged me to pull the trigger on a new tent. Very happy with the Blacktail 3 so far, I am using this mostly as a car camping tent but it's definitely light enough to backpack with, especially split between two people. As long as you're not looking for something ultralight like the Copper Spur or Tiger Wall this is a great option.

Great Rugged Tent

It appears as though it will be highly durable, but would be better if the main poles were connected with a centre clip for the tent to make set up easier and minimize pole chafing. At this price point we are getting an overall highly durable tent. I like the storage options and angle of the walls.

Tiffany P

I really like this little tent. It fits two adults and a 50 lb dog very comfortably. Very easy setup. I love how the poles clip to the tent instead of having to slide through fabric. The 2 doors make it much easier for two people to get out on their own side or store gear outside the tent but under the rainfly. Lots of loops inside for hanging things and pockets for small storage. It's much better in cooler to cold temps. Summer camping with the fly on doesn't let enough air to circulate even with the fly doors open, but still bearable. The rainfly is pretty large and doesn't pack down super small. I recommend getting the matching footprint. They both have coordinating colored grommet straps to make setup a no brainer. Overall, a great tent!
