I had the basic yaktrac before the springs break get caught on stuff, trying the heavy duty model, chains work great and appear much stronger. How they are attached to the rubber harness no so much, you can pull the grommet right out of the rubber harness. My solution is just leave them on one pair of shoes

They do work but wish chains were better design. The spacing makes chains a little unstable when walking on flat surfaces when turning and stepping.

Sturdy Chains!

I’ve had a few pairs of Yaktrax in my life and this style, by far, is the sturdiest. No problem walking in the snow or ice.

I bought these for a mid level hike in snow and ice conditions, I didn't think crampons or spikes were necessary. The chains performed very well and made a noticeable difference. Easy to put on and take off. Definitely more durable than the coil wire yaktrax, and will last longer. Would buy again.
