I’m disappointed with my Thule Motion 3 roof box. The box is extremely flexible, and the locking mechanism becomes very difficult to operate even when the box is only partially loaded and not overfilled. When empty, it usually closes normally. But with a normal amount of luggage inside, the box flexes and the front and rear locking points can become misaligned. The central lock then won’t engage properly. I often have to press, adjust, or even tap the lid several times just to get it to lock. Nothing inside is pushing against the lid, and the box is nowhere near full. It seems that the flexibility of the box itself causes the locking mechanism to move out of alignment. For a premium roof box at this price, I expected a much more rigid construction and a locking system that works reliably under normal use. Unfortunately, closing the box has been frustrating almost every time I’ve used it.

Motion 3 XL Low fits on 2024 Mazda cx50. Easiest installation imaginable - throw it on top, pop in the 4 torque knobs (they slide in a channel to grab your crossbars wherever they are) turn each and tighten .. done. More expensive than I wanted but nothing beats it in looks or access in my opinion.

I am so happy with my new Thule. It has made such a difference with what I can take with me. So much space. Everything from ordering to delivering was seamless. Exactly as described, awesome quality…..of course it’s a Thule! I was thinking I might need a different vehicle for trips to the lake with my pups taking up space in the boot but no need. Golf clubs, pickleball bag, extra anything is nicely tucked inside. No worries about weather or security. Should have bought one long ago. I also love the look. The shiny sleek finish looks very smart. The slim design takes away worry about fitting in the garage.

The low profile allows me to park my suv in the garage and should be able to park inside an airport garage too. It helps us get the extra storage we need to go camping and long trips when we have 5 people in the vehicle and need some extra space.

Overall quite happy with the product. Just taking it out next week for the first trip. Documentation could be more complete such as things not to do or avoid in order to make life easier. The product is quite heavy and it takes a strong person to lift it into place. On the other hand I need the size and the space for my camping gear. The mounting of the clamps appears a bit flimsy. Hope things won't break over time.

Purchased this for a ski trip to Mont Tremblant this winter. Mounted to Wingbar Edge on my Mustang Mach E. Size was perfect for 4 pairs of skis, boots, poles, and some extra gear. The low profile kept range loss to a minimum (30% at highway speeds). Definitely worth the extra soace you get for passengers.

I pilurchsed the Thule Motion 3 XL Low and came away really impressed. The sleek, low-profile design looks great on the car and doesn’t feel bulky like some other roof boxes. Installation was straightforward, and attaching it to the roof rack was quick and hassle-free. Once on, it felt extremely secure. I drove over four hours with it fully loaded and never once worried about stability or movement. It gave me total confidence on the road. Overall, it’s a great combination of design, ease of use, and reliability. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a dependable and good-looking cargo box.

So far so good. It’s not apparent from sales pitch but some research revealed the need to store this flatly. It’s very big so plan ahead. They want you to take it off when not in use which is a lot of the time. Big The box Itself Ingenious!! Somewhere I read it’s best to store unlocked but you can’t leave it unlocked and take the key with you. You can’t remove the key unless all latches are secure. That’s probably higher priority. They need a few WORDS about maintenance since storing so long and possibly covered outdoors involves variations in temperature and humidity

Plastic on the entire box needs to be thicker so it’s not as wobbly especially when opening and closing. Other than that I love it. I wish they still made the Vector I’d pay more $$$

This box has a slim, aerodynamic profile and is very functional. I can easily fit my boardbag and all my equipment in it, with room to spare, making it much easier to pack our trunk with all our family essentials. Opening and closing the bin is very easy, and the keys will not release unless the lid is properly latched, adding an extra safety feature. It has also done a great job of protecting our gear on long trips and in inclement weather. Overall, an excellent piece of equipment.

DROVE CAR WITH NEW THULEBOX LAST WEEK, OVER A MOUNTAIN RANGE TO GO SKIING. MAYBE -8 C TEPERATURE. LOCKS COMPLETELY FROZEN COULD NOT OPEN :(. NOT SO GOOD

I have a Audi box that I us to filp back and forth between the truck and my SUV. I decided to get a second one for the SUV. No regrets!!! Love the design, extremely quiet compare to the other one we have. Don’t look anywhere else, the Thule Motion 3 XL is the way to go

The Motion 3 XL low was easy to install and loos great! The low profile still has lots of space inside. Opening and closing and locking is simple. I appreciate the colour feature at the handle to show if the box is closed properly. We forget it’s there as there is no extra wind noise, even on the highway.

Like peas and carrots, I just think the Thule box goes so well with my car. I knew if I ever got an RS6, the box was going to happen. Besides the look, its just nice to have the extra storage space. For Thule manufacturing, just please improve on the quality control of your stickers. The Thule sticker on the back of the box was very crooked. I just removed it, there's no way I could drive around with that not perfectly centered. Other than that, it's a great box and it just completes the look of my car. Love it!

Works great so far. Wanted something that I could drive straight into our 7 foot tall garage. Install was very easy. Looks sleek on a 2025 Rav 4 Prime.
