My daughter got this for middle school last year. It was just what she wanted but was too difficult to get stuff inside it. The bottom half seems to narrow to the point that no binders go to the bottom without a lot of effort. She could barely get packed up to get to the next class on time so after two weeks I had to buy her a JANSPORT. I knew it was bad when she was willing to give this up.
She still really wants a North Face so we are trying a Jester this year, hoping the base is wider. I wanted to try the Recon but didn’t want to spend that much in case it doesn’t work out again. Would give one star since I had to replace it so fast but it doesn’t look nice and the materials seem to be good quality.

Laptop Sleeve Zipper Broken After Just 1 Year
Not very durable. I used this on and off for a year or more and the laptop sleeve zipper completely split and hangs open now.

Too Small
I just bought this backpack for school as an incoming 8th grader and I'm not happy. I think that this bag is too deep and not wide enough. if you're going to put more than two binders and three journals in the main pocket then don't get this bag. it fits, yeah, but it's way too tight. but the quality is great and the colors are so beautiful.
