Sturdy and affordable tent. Easy to assemble. no complaints!

First let me say I love this tent and I really should be giving it a 4 star review. I love the 2 zipper fly as it is very versatile. I'm giving this a 1 star review because after about 12 nights tenting, one of the long tent poles (aluminum) took a bend and would not return to true. The tent would still work, but I sent the tent back for warranty repair (why did I have to send the whole tent and not just the poles?). When I got the tent back from North Face Warranty repair and now it’s more broken then before!!!! The 2 long tent poles are now different lengths. Three poles on one are shorter then the rest. This means that when I setup the tent it will rock on the two tent corners where the long pole is attached!!

I bought this tent second hand to use for the west coast trail which is notoriously rainy and humid. This tent exceeded all expectations of waterproofness as we had complete downpours and I stayed 100% dry inside. Ventilation inside the tent was great as well. I bought the footprint (sadly not included) which I would recommend getting since this tent seems bomb proof may as well help the bottom of it out. Also the poles are so simple to set up I can do it easily on my own.

I have had this a few years now and I wanted one more for my daughter. I ended up buying another brand, but I prefer this one so much I decided to share it with you. The Stormbreak 2 is so easy to handle, and the construction keeps the two layers well separated even on a bumpy surface. It is light enough and very cleverly designed with openings on both sides nd it’s easy to enter! Enough space for two to sit up and play cards! Great tent!

I've taken this tent on several trips in Alaska north of Fairbanks and had it in The Marshall Islands of the South Pacific. Solid performance on both fronts. Great room, ventilation, and dual doors!

I purchased this tent to replace my leaky MSR Elixir 2 and I am so glad i did!! Compared to the MSR, this tent is easy to set up, waterproof, stable in the wind, EXTREMELY spacious, and looks nice (mine is orange). I've taken it backpacking and car camping and it's done great in both situations (best for backpacking with 2 people). I can fit two people and two dogs inside. It's a great price for what you get

Tested this car camping with no issues. Took it across Banff & Jasper. Can practically set it up in the dark. Rain resistance is good. Stable against wind. Floor is durable but get the footprint anyways. No issues after 3 years. Great tent although a bit heavy for multi day hikes. Consider the Trail Light tent if you hike multiple days less 1 or 2 lbs.

Fantastic product. Used on a hiking trip in the Tetons and held up perfectly.

I stay warm at night because it's cozy. It helps with humidity because it's very well-vented. It's protective in the rain because the fly can cover all sides when desired. I love the vestibule on both sides with two entryways. Been in some storms and it ONCE leaked 2 drips. (Probably my fault). I thought about getting a bigger size but I can't find another that gives me what this tent provides. Cons? You'll probably get wet if you crawl out while it's actively raining because it's impossible to avoid the rainfly flap at the entry. Meh. Stay inside. It's raining. Lol

I purchased this item 3 days ago and have already returned it. After reading the mixed reviews online I decided to purchase this tent due to availability and price. This was a mistake. During my very first time setting up this tent, indoors, and while following the included instructions a pole snapped. I think this speaks to the quality of the tent. It is also quite confusing and weird that Dick's doesn't sell the matching tent footprint, I had to go to a different retailer to purchase it and will be returning that too.

I've taken this tent down thousands of miles of rivers int he western US and have never had a problem. Super airy on hot nights and the rainfly withstands monsoon rains well. Definitely a permanent resident in my dry bag.

Love this tent! It zips from both sides and is super easy and quick to set up. Fits two very comfortably.

Had this tent for 3 years now, although not a 4 season tent I have taken it to extreme conditions in the high sierras. Withstood 60+ mph winds and snow storms. Absolute bomber tent, would recommend!

Had the Storm Break 3 years so far, and maybe a couple/few dozen uses. At half the price of the similarly featured tents from the pro competition, it's an impressive tent IMO. It's a couple pounds heavier, but that has very little effect in my application (mostly motorcycle camping). I've had zero problems with poles, zippers, stitching, fabric, or other parts/details. I'm relatively careful and use common sense in setup and breakdown of the tent. I use a decent ground cloth to protect the floor and avoid exposure to sharp sticks and rock etc. Also avoid over tensioning the loops and holding points when staking and setting up guylines. I'm careful with zippers and don't force them or zip/unzip carelessly or super fast. In my limited experience, the zippers have been excellent. The vestibule flap zippers can be a bit fussy, and I simply use a finger to "lead" the zipper-pull path; this prevents the overlap fabric from getting caught in the pull. I've used it in light rain and moderately windy conditions, but not in extreme weather. It has performed and held up just fine. Having read some of the negative reviews, I don't understand how poles can just "break" or bend into some strange wavy deformed condition that some have claimed - that's odd IMO, and makes me wonder if those individuals aren't revealing the entire story/truth or maybe were careless? Setup is quick and pretty simple, and is doable in the dark if you're familiar with the process and the tent. I really like the overall design and features: roomy, vestibules, inside mesh pockets in all 4 corners, interior hanger loops, the fly - great tent in my experience!

I've owned two of them now the first one broke on the trail within a week. Had to fight with north face customer service to try and see how we could replace when I was on the trail no luck. Now the same thing has happened in the same amount of time. Now I'm just gonna be buying something else. I don't wanna fight customer service on my hiking trip total crap tent.
