Finally, Something That Works On My Rav4

I have a '23 Toyota RAV4 with OEM crossbars and had quite a time finding a box that didn't cost more than I was willing to tolerate. I needed to drill two new holes in this box for it to fit; I mounted two of the four clamps in the parking lot and drove gingerly on backroads to get it home. Good box, spacious enough for fam of four cross-country trip. Accessibility is a bit tricky as you need step stool or to stand on the wheel. Did about 2,0000 miles with it and didn't crush has mileage by too much.

Good Size. Overall Good. Annoying Fit.

Bought this for camping trips to use on our Subaru Forester. The size is great. We were able to fit lots of things in there. Just be mindful of the minimum 35 lbs you need in there and the max of about 100 lbs. The rear opening has been "fine" for us so far. Was only a little bit of a pain at one gas station stop where we needed something that we'd packed at the front of the box. Had to pull out a couple things to get to it. Lessons learned. The lid is a bit tough to open sometimes. Seems to catch on the latch or something. Haven't quite figured out the trick there. We haven't noticed any real added noise while driving with it on, so that's been good. My main reason for the drop in rating was because of how maddening the installation was given the box's width. The set of manufactured holes work fine at the front, but don't work at all in the back for our Forester. I had to putz and shift and ultimately drill 4 new holes in the box so that the U-bolt would be fastened to the actual roof rack crossbar and not the rack's feet. And even still then, 2 of the holes had to be drilled in a suboptimal location because of the pattern of the raised and lowered plastic flooring in the box. Ended up being a big headache. All in all ... decent box. Very fair to call it a "budget roof box" though. Hoping all the negatives are behind us now.

Worked To Perfection!

We used for a road trip (10 hours each way), and ran into weather along the way. Nothing got wet inside and the wind drag/resistance was relatively unnoticeable. Would recommend for those looking for a quick each solution.

Great Cargo Carrier

Compared several cargo carriers, this one was sturdy with a lot of capacity. I thought the rear opening would be an issue, but it wasn’t and I felt more comfortable that it wouldn’t fly open while on the highway.

Holds A Ton!!

Bought to go on top Honda crv. Fit great! Light weight. Lid stays open in its own. Can access from both sides and back. Holds so much. We pack 3 beach chairs 2 boogie boards, family of 5s clothing, 2 bags, pool noodles and snorkel gear and other random things we were throwing in. Drove 10 hours each way. Noise wasn’t too bad at all! Highly recommend!!!!

Sleek While Still Holding A Lot

I bought this on a trip after I drove into a low garage with my other carrier. RIP Sears Carrier with all the fun stickers. This new cargo box is much lighter than the previous a little sleeker and seemed to do great for the drive home. So glad it was in stock.

Great Value….but

It’s well made, sturdy. Attaching to the box to the car is not quick or convenient . The rear opening is not the best location. I would recommend getting a box that opens from the side. I only use it once a year, maybe, So the price being hundred less than others makes it a good value.

Solid, Stable, Dry!

Used for Christmas vacation, quiet, stable and kept everything dry. Hard to get into unless long arms for the Toyota Grand Highlander as it is a rear latch and no bumper to stand on.
