Needs Revision…

#1 issue is you can’t buy replacement visors (lenses). The first year this model came out the visors could be bought separately, we all want a CLEAR visor for night skiing, but they haven’t been for sale since. Won’t buy this model again. Important to know, it’s a ‘visor’ and not ‘googles’. They won’t fit snuggly against your face. When snowing, snow builds up inside the visor.

Game Changer!

I am a full time professional ski patroller. I wear glasses. I could not find OTG goggles that were comfortable. I had modified the foam in all my goggles to better accommodate my glasses. Was never a great solution. Decided to try the Smith Survey. . . . Total game changer! The helmets overall fit is great. Extremely comfortable. Warm in cold weather. Well vented in warmer temps. The visor is fantastic! Zero issues in blizzard conditions with moisture getting inside the lens as some have described. Works flawlessly with my glasses. Allows me to perform my patrol work on the hill and transition into the patrol room without skipping a beat. No issues with airflow coming up under the lens. The look of the helmet/visor combo is also very nice compared to other brands offerings. I would highly recommend the Survey helmet to anyone looking for a new set up!

Dr

Fits well and is great to have the visor. Fits well over glasses. Comfortable and looks good too.

Worst…design…ever…

Why would they build an air vent (more like a snow scoop) on the over your forehead that gets directed into the visor without any foam or mesh? If there’s any blowing snow or loose snow, it ends up in the visor accumulating until it eventually blocks your vision. I had to tape those vents closed to make the helmet functional.

Wide Range Of Vision, Needs Improvement

Great fitting helmet. Don't wear this helmet on any day that precipitation is falling, it will end up on the inside of the visor. Water from the lift chair was dripping down and ended up rolling down the front side of the hemlet onto the inside of the visor, very frustrating. Great visibility, wide range of side to side view. Good option for those that wear glasses although your glasses will sometimes fog.

Goggles Do Not Fit

Unhappy with me new expensive helmet. Goggles do not fit flush against the face allowing airflow under goggles. There is also a significant gap between the temple and eye. Allowing a ton of cold air to enter on the side. If you are snowboarding don't have your head facing completely downhill, so much air comes in leaving your face freezing and your eyes running which then impairs vision.

Convenient But Not Durable

I bought my SMITH Survey helmet in Val Thorens in France on my second last day of snowboarding. Used it once on the last day and really enjoyed the convenience of easy pulling up and down the visor vs my previous set with separate googles. But when I got home, I found that the component part connecting the visor to the helmet is broken. I am so surprised that it can be broken so easily. I live in Hong Kong and there is no authorised dealer in Hong Kong. And my next snowboarding trip is in 2 weeks time in Japan. I hope I can find a replacement part before my next trip. Can anyone give me any advice?

Great Combo

As a ski instructor, I love the option of simply flipping up my googles with one hand so that I can make eye contact with my clients at anytime.

A Visor Helmet Is A

A visor helmet is a great alternative and more convenient than the traditional helmet and goggle arrangement. This is a solid option. I do hope that Smith can iterate the attachment system to make it more convenient and more robust.

Impressed

Quite happy with the helmet overall. Comfortable. Rugged. Visibility us good. Goggle mechanism robust. Its the first white helmet i have owned. Buddies all said it's easy to pick out in crowds.

Visor Helmet

really like this helmet! Fit is great, does fit snugly over my eyeglasses, glad I tried this.

Holes In The Side Let

Holes in the side let too much air and snow in. Other wise love the simplicity and ease of use. Can’t use on a snowy day

My 13 Year Old Grandson

My 13 year old grandson used his own money to buy this helmet to go skiing. He was so proud of it, and very excited to wear it. He took several falls and credited the helmet for as he says, “saving his life”! 😊

Stoked

It fits well and the goggles don't fog at all. Came with a sweet backpack and goggle protector.

Peripheral Vision Is Great. Lens

Peripheral vision is great. Lens fog up when have google up. Lens doesn’t fit tight, when it’s snowing I had snow on the inside is google Helmet Fit is great. Best fitting helmet I’ve had Feel is also great. Light and very comfortable
