Headwaters Chest Pack

Best chest pack I have ever owned! I fish some tournaments where tough competition is apparent. In the spring, summer and early fall months seem to need more than a 20 oz. bottle of water for the morning/day. This fine pack will hold a Cenote HydraPak 2 liter water bladder! I drink a lot of water and I should have water still at 1:PM. So great job Simms! Cary all my fly boxes (5) tools and leaders. Love the magnetic closure pocket! I have a mag puk that fits perfectly and have easy access to protect my Simms Pro nippers as well on a lanyard. Could add a loop of some kind on one side to attach tippet holder. Currently use zipper pull so spools hang down out of my way.

Second Rod Pocket

I would like to have a mesh pocket on back to place a 4 piece rod

Head Water, Chest Pack

It was very bulky upfront wish it could be a little lower, a little too high up on the chest

Received incentive

Ample Space For A Days Trip

Simms Headwaters chest pack can hold an extra reel, skagit heads, tippet, fly box, and 2-16 oz water bottles in mesh pockets on the front. The back pocket will hold an extra layer of clothing. The net slot takes some getting used to as it's awkward reaching back to replace the net. I almost forgot a bonus magnetic pocket which allows for quick access.

Headwater Pack

Great product, plenty of storage so you can everything you need for the day including lunch!

Lots Of Room For A Day Of Fly Fishing

Perfect replacement for my old vest. Light and well organized front and back pockets, net holder and holds 6 fly boxes plus tippet spools and a light raincoat.

Pack

Great fit easy access best vest I have ever had. Awesome product

Closest Thing To A Perfect Solution!

Getting close to the perfect solution. Pros: Everything conveniently on the chest, Good quality overall, Lots of adjustability, Spreads weight out to both shoulders, Water bladder compatible, Storage layout, 2 options for net storage, Place for rain jacket on back, Integration with the larger backpack. Cons/tweaks: Needs another smaller divider solution for more options inside main compartment, No pocket is waterproof, Got caught in a downpour everything was wet even inside of the magnet pocket. Fly compartment needs to be slightly deeper to fit a medium fly box, Water-bottle holder needs to be slightly larger, The backpack needs to be slightly larger to fit a rain jacket and maybe a water bottle for weight distribution, Needs another net loop on the bottom of the backpack portion, Can get heavy in the front and start to shift forward maybe a strap that goes from the backpack to the rear belt loop would help, Fix the shoulder strap angle. . too wide, or make the angle adjustable, Maybe make it in 2 sizes? If I could only choose 1 thing to improve it would be make it more water-resistant. Overall: I have tried everything out there. . This is probably the closest thing to a perfect solution. I love where this product is going!

Amazing Piece Of Gear

This chest piece is amazing I’m able to fit everything that I need chest harness wish it was a little bit bigger but still a good start

Uber Awesome! Great Design And Quality

This is uber awesome! Simms created an amazing chest pack that addressed nagging chest pack issues from Simms and other manufacturers. It has a very functional pack layout with a great solid rigid drop down work surface. The pack is narrow so that you can see the walking surface in front as you navigate your on uncertain terrain. The fabric and fabric edges are waterproof and very high quality. Simms finally designed proper, functional straps that work really well. I am an Architect I like products that are well designed. This pack is functional, beautiful, fairly priced and will provide lasting value. It is great Simms has now recognized the importance of quality design and manufacturing.
