This Is My Camera Pack

This is my camera pack for portable bird blind set-ups. I use it to haul camera, lens, tripod, chair, light stands, tools, and bird hide to remote locations (with just about all but the hide inside the pack). The camera and lens are protected with a Think Tank Digital Holster 150 bag. The Aether handles all this weight easily and is so much more comfortable than any camera backpack, while there is still room for food, water, and clothing. My Tragopan blind straps nicely to the outside.

Product Review Opportunity – Osprey Aether 65

Hi Osprey Team, I’ve recently bought the Aether 65 and was prompted to leave a review. I tend to write detailed, thoughtful reviews based on real-world use rather than quick ratings. I wanted to ask whether Osprey ever provides products for testing or review. I’d be very happy to review another pack or item and provide honest, well-written feedback that could be useful to other customers. Thanks for considering, and either way I appreciate the great gear. Best, Daniel

Love the new pack. It’s more comfortable, has more features and is lighter than the aether 60 it replaced. Thanks, Osprey!

Top Notch

Fantastic backpack. Lots of space, useful zippers, plenty of pockets, great quality. Went on my first hike without a hitch.

Very comfortable to wear. Carries all of my gear. Included rain cover.

Alright, But Not As Comfy As Expected

There's a small part that digs into my left hip when worn with just a T shirt. When wearing thicker outer layers, it's fine, but not the best.

Mega Backpack

Order came quickly- quality product with lots of pockets and adjustment - yet to use but looking forward to a pack that helps distribute the weight more effectively.

Very Comfortable For Heavy Gear

I bought Aether 65 recently and have already used it for hiking in snowdonia Wales. I had lots of gear with me and it was very heavy however I didn’t feel the weight on my back. It is very comfortable and perfectly fits my body. I’m very happy with the quality of this product.

I have not used the aether pack yet. But I have adjusted it and checked it out. Looks great.

Exceptional

Elegant roomy choice for serious travellers Comfortable to carry even when fully packed Robust when dealing with carousels and airport’s demands Recommend

Great Pack

Excellent pack. Hardwearing enough to be bashed about in the back of a Land Rover but technical, comfortable and light enough to wear for extended trips out.

Good Backpacking Backpack

Used for 3 day camping trip. Got tent, roll, sleeping bag, food, jetboil and clothes in it. Personally id like a few more attachment points and description said has stow on the go points which it doesn't. Bought the daypack to attach....not easy....but when on feels ok and adds storage (had to keep food out of tent due to squirrels!) Hopefully a good investment.

Great But The Rain Cover Is Useless In Wind

Other than the rain cover, it’s a great bag. I used it for the first time doing the presidential traverse in the White Mountains and it performed great. It’s easy to load and unload. It has great compression. It was very comfortable with 30-35lbs in it for a day of hiking. The only negative is the rain cover that came with it did not stay on in high winds. It doesn’t have anything built in that holds it to the bag and it relies totally on the elastic draw string. There were 60 mph winds one day and it just blew off. Thankfully I had clipped it in with a carabiner, but otherwise it would have been gone down the gulf and I would have had a very wet bag. My wife has an Osprey Aura AG 65 that has a rain cover with two slots for fitting the hip belt through and her rain cover stayed in place perfectly the whole time. I know I could just buy a better rain cover, but this seems like a miss from Osprey on such an expensive bag.

Size And Fit

My torso is 17" so I purchased the S/M size expecting it to be on the shortest setting. I found I needed to have it just under the longest setting to fit me correctly with the middle of the hip belt on my iliac crest. I think you might be able to squeeze into this pack if your torso is 19" maximum. Easily the most comfortable pack I have tried on, very happy with my purchase.
