I finally treated myself to a good pair of hiking boots and I have no regrets. These are so comfortable and feel like they do the walking for me. They carried me all over the Highlands of Scotland. These fit perfect right from the first wearing. No breaking them in at all. The website suggested getting a half size larger which I did. I usually wear sz 8 regular width. I ordered 8.5 regular width and they are perfect for size. This is my second pair and I don’t think I’d get another brand.

Cute Boots But Not Really 'Hikers'

Got these a half size up in black based on reviews and the fact that normally I buy hikers at least that large. Ended up exchanging for my exact size since they were SO roomy (and I have wide-ish feet with a high instep!) and got the white instead since they were more 'fashionable'. Pros: cute - really cuter than the shoe version, like that they are waterproof. Cons: even my size is almost too roomy in the foot that my foot slides around even with thick socks on; not as much arch support/foot cradling as usual with my beloved Merrell jungle mocs; the soles are squeaky! Conclusion: I like them for everyday wear as the white is the trend now and they are easy to slip on/lace up but I wouldn't wear them for hiking as they don't really have the footbed features/support of hikers.
