Must Have

I bought these to go to Watkins Glen State Park, New York to hike through the Gorge waterfall Which I was told Can get quite slippery. Not only did these shoes have great tread. My feet felt amazing the entire time which is so rare. We walked for hours from the top to the bottom and then with no shuttle, we walked from the bottom to the top. I am now going to order a pair of sneakers

Product Quality

Plastic sole cracked and broke off rest of the shoe my local cobbler said a glue would probably not work just know shoes don't last

Disappointed

Disappointed, I’ve been wearing Merrells for maybe 20 yrs and they were always a comfort… I’ve had this exact boot before. This new boot is stiffer, it fights my foot instead of wrapping it in comfort. Perhaps the biggest issue is the massive arch support, that they’ve somehow managed to put slightly too far back… when I tried on the boot I immediately thought I’d be returning because of the extremely painful assault on my arch. I detest returning online items 😞 so instead, I removed the molded insole and replaced it with a soft flat liner i purchased at my local pharmacy. The boots are wearable now, but still, the stiffness and that arch support cause issues. I used to hike a solid day in my old Merrels … those days are over. I will get use out of these, but certainly not the all day wear my old pair provided. When it comes time for a new hiker sadly I will have to explore other options outside of Merrel.

Faithful Fit With Every Order

I replace my hiking boots about every 2 years and it is always Merrill! Last week, I took them out of the box and hiked the 7 mile mountain trail. Perfect!!

Mid Boot

These are just OK. I got wide with and I finally believe I do not have a wide foot. They aren’t as compressed as I like my hiking boots. They seem flimsy. This is my first pair of Merrells. Hiking boots I’ve owned before are Columbia, On Cloud, and Oboz and they all have this solid outer structure that I like in a hiking boot that these Merrells didn’t have. They also feel light on the cushion. Idk how far I can trek in these without foot pain.

Still Solid Boots

Bought these again since my old moabs started falling apart after a good decade of use. Had to size down as apparently the boots are made bigger now, but otherwise these are just as reliable and comfy as my old ones.

So Disappointed

These are super cute shoes. Love the color. These days I have very wide feet and these actually accommodate width well. That has not been the case with all of my other recent Merrell wide buys. I have always had a good quality hiking shoe and I recently just purchased my 'go-to' brand (not Merrell) in more of a sneaker style, but was worried their wide size would still be too narrow. It arrived and it actually works great and the quality is not a disappointment (whew!) But I decided to go ahead and purchase these Moab 3 mid for more ankle support, they had good reviews and the price was quite a bit less than my others (though these are quite expensive for what they are). As much as I love everything else about this hiking 'boot' (color, width, comfort in everything but the sole), the soles are incredibly uncomfortable and have zero support. It feels like I am walking on rocks. My feet ache a little bit just from walking on my driveway 30 min after taking them off. The way I used to hike, I would never in a million years ever keep these. I wouldn't recommend taking them on anything other than an easy and smooth trail... most definitely, not any moderate, difficult or rocky hikes. But with all of my injuries (including really bad ankles and balance issues), I only do easy hikes these days and I think I will keep them and give them a try for light walking/'hiking' and possibly try getting an orthotic cushion insert. But what a huge disappointment. Merrell shoes used to feel very supportive and comfortable, not the case any longer. I would have given these 1 star, but I like everything else about them. But they are far too expensive to have to try and buy an insert to make them useable.

Super Comfy Good Grip

Extremely comfortable no need to break in. I did go up a half size. Perfect for Yellowstone and the Grand Tetons.

Love the boots. I highly recommend buying them. They are exactly what others say about them. They fit well, they are comfortable, super easy to break in and look forward to hiking in them every week.

Smaller Fit And Bulky But Great Overall

I am size 9 in running and court shoes, but I had ordered size 10 in these. Even with that size up, I dont think I can fit thick socks in it. I have narrow feet too and I can definitrly feel the sides of the toe box foam. So, size up, ladies. It is also a bit heavy and looks bulky, but I knew that going in. I still love them. I like the color and the feel of the shoes.
