I've had these for some time now. I loved them from the first day I got them. They didn't need any "break in" time and are very comfortable and they hold up over time.

Not Built For Rugged Terrain

I’m deeply disappointed with the Merrell Moab 3 Mid Waterproof boots. These are advertised as hiking boots suited for rugged terrain, but after wearing them on a multi-day backpacking trip through the Dolomites, I could not disagree more. These boots may be fine for softer trails or casual day hikes, but I would absolutely not recommend them for multi-day backpacking or rough, rocky terrain. I could feel practically every rock underneath my feet. By the end of each day, it genuinely felt like I had been walking barefoot over rocks for miles. There was nowhere near enough cushioning, protection, or support for the terrain, especially while carrying a loaded pack and hiking significant mileage each day. The pain became so severe that I later learned I had a stress fracture in my right foot. While I can’t say the boots alone caused the injury, spending day after day hiking rocky terrain in them certainly did not provide the protection or support I expected from a boot marketed for rugged hiking. The Dolomites were absolutely incredible, and I had an amazing trip. The one major downside was having to endure immense foot pain every day because I was stuck wearing these boots for the duration of the trek. For casual trails, they may be perfectly adequate. But if you’re buying these for serious backpacking, high mileage, carrying a pack, or rocky alpine terrain, I would look elsewhere. I trusted these boots for a major trip based on how they were marketed, and I deeply regret that choice.

Great Quality Product

Took my new Moab 3 shoes through some trails in Montana and Wyoming. My feet kept dry and comfortable. I’m glad I made the investment in this product.

Excellent Boot

I purchased the Moab 3 boot to take to Alaska. They were put to the test when we spent 6 hours on an open boat in a steady rain. My feet stayed incredibly warm and dry! I was very pleasantly surprised and grateful!!

I Don't Know Why I Refused To By These For Months

I am so glad I took the plunge and bought these boots! I was looking for a water proof shoe, good to walk in, something with ankle support, and a shoe with good tread. I am a true 6.5 medium but sized up to a 7M, this way I can wear thick socks. My toes, metatarsal, and heel feel supported when I walk in these. I have not tested them in rain yet, but hopefully I can do so soon.

First Hiking Shoes, I Love Them!

After reading some reviews saying these are heavy, I was worried - I have never had another pair of hiking shoes, and don't often reach for sneakers (I wear leather boots day to day) the only pair of actual shoes I have are NB 530s which are extremely light and made of mesh -- these MOABS aren't much heavier than those so I would say these are lightweight! I've currently only walked 6KM in them, but have had no blisters or pain. I find these to fit true to size.

Comfortable, But Not Waterproof.

Love the boot, comfortable but not waterproof. Took on a trip to the Falkland Islands where I needed waterproof and after a couple days the boot was wet outside and damp inside. They would not dry overnight so each day new dry socks would be damp because the inside was still dame. Not soaking wet, but damp enough your socks were wet each day.

True to size, comfortable and waterproof. I wore these recently on many 4-7 hour hikes for vacation and they were great!

Perfect Right Out Of The Box

Took them hiking in Oregon for a week, and they worked great. Comfortable and no blisters. Love that they're waterproof!
