Good Fit For Me
These aren't exactly the shoe you'd expect for someone paralyzed from mid chest down. Finding shoes can be an exhaustive search. I used to wear wrestling shoes because they are lightweight & not much larger than my foot in general. Even then, some brands wouldn't work because of the toe box (my big toe knuckle would rub against the top creating redness). I was wearing heavy basketball shoes (4.5lbs) that were 3 sizes too big to prevent skin breakdowns. Family members wear these & mentioned the comfort. So I figured I give them a try for 2 reasons; their weight and durability. I ordered 2 pairs, Granite and Black, in 10.5 regular (half size bigger to accomodate for the edema I get). I am pleasantly pleased to report that after wearing for a full week, there were no signs of skin redness anywhere. I also love how my foot slides into the heel-cup and stays there (when I get out my car in regular shoes, my heels slip out & I'm shoeless).
