Great Jacket

Great jacket, warm and light. Water resistant my husband used recently while hiking a glacier

Sizing Issue

I am usually wearing size M for all Marmot product. Like others were saying, the shell jacket fits perfectly, the inner insulation jacket fits weird, it is very tight around the chest area and under the arm pit, making it difficult to move when wearing the jacket. Though the material of the shell jacket seems to be good, unfortunately, I will have to return it.

Awesome Jacket!

This is a really great combo jacket. It works very well in the rain. The inner jacket I use to work in the hospital as it is often cold there, yet it allows me to move freely with it on.

Nice Holiday Gift To Myself!

A great 3-in-1 jacket for an excellent price! I bought this one to replace my similar North Face Goretex jacket from nine years ago. I love that Marmot makes these when most vendors are not. Best of all it provides similar quality while being less bulky.

Marmot And Gore Tex, Great Combination

It's a typical Marmot jacket that fits great and of good quality. The Gore Tex shell stands up to wind and rain. The inside jacket is removable and can be used alone if the shell isn't needed. I do wish the inside jacket had zipper pulls though. The pockets on the shell are deep and the hood fits great.

Amazing Coat!

I worked for a sporting goods retailer, and had the opportunity to get one of these coats. It is, by far, the best cost I've had! It lasted me 3 years and the only reason it is gone is because of a house fire.

Nice Coat And What I Wanted Feature Wise.

Coat and inner shell fit fine worn separately. However when nested the outer shell it’s noticeably snug.

Size Of Outer Shell Doesn't Match With Inner Line

This is definitely a well-designed and quality 3-in-1 jacket. The only issue with this jacket is that the size of outer shell does not match with that of the inner liner. I am 5'7" 70kg. When I put on size S, the inner liner is way too tight around the armpit and chest, while the outer shell fits perfectly. However, size M is the opposite. The inner liner fits perfectly while the outer shell is way too loose. The whole idea of owning a 3-in-1 jacket is that I can wear each of them separately. Sadly, I had to return it in the end because of the size issue.

Wanted To Love It, But....

I chose Marmot for my waterproof rain jacket. The Gore-Tex Paclite was a good selling point that leans the product to a reliable hardshell, so a plus compared to other brands! I bought the Minimalist and then the Minimalist Component (sale prices thru a third party was hard to pass up). I really wanted to love the Minimalist Component, but overall, the Minimalist is a better buy for me, in comparison. Here's why! Both in a size Small, the Minimalist has a much better fit. The Component is a bit longer, the arms are over 2 inches more in circumference, and the hood is cavernous, with the neck/collar area much too tall, and as other reviewers mentioned, the hood and collar when down sits awkwardly. The Component's liner has a great fit and design - would be great on its own! I tried the liner under the Minimalist jacket and they are perfect partners - so it is too bad Marmot felt they had to make the Component's shell so much bigger to accommodate the liner. As such, on its own, the Component is too big. Also, the Component does not have pit zips nor a storm flap over the chest pocket. I will return the Minimalist Component and keep the Minimalist. After all, if I want insulation, I will use my Marmot dropdown fleece or my synthetic insulated jacket underneath. So all in all, Minimalist wins over the Component.
