They’re cool pants, made very well, but you’re definitely gonna have to layer. They’re thin. No insulation layer.

These trousers are an integral part of my fall/spring/warm winter day wardrobe in the heart of the Canadian forest. I live off grid, do fieldwork, and run a dog team, all of which keeps me outside for many hours each day. These pants are always up for hard work in the field. I appreciate the reinforced areas, the high waist, and the slightly thicker stretch material areas for cool (not cold) /windy/wet/snowy weather. I also have the regular Keb Curved that I wear in the warmer/overlap times of year and sing their praises often. Unfortunately, the redesign of the Keb Winter Trousers removed the slot for kneepads, which was my favourite feature of the previous version. To have greater wind protection and warm knees for kneeling makes such a difference in the snow (no melting!) and seriously extends the comfortable temperature range of these pants. It was this feature that brought these pants from good to great, especially in a winter context; losing it was a big oversight that should be reevaluated for the next iteration. Additionally, having a ‘curvy’ winter option would be very welcome, especially when accommodating layers and space to move. These pants are pretty good, but I will be modifying them and hoping for some tweaks to the design before I get my next pair.

Just received my pants 3 weeks ago, and wanted a chance to push them in the field before sharing my opinion here. I'm a professional wildlife photographer and as such, travel extensively spending a great deal of time in the Canadian rockies and many arctic regions. So, lets start with a rundown on the highlights: the extra insulation compared to my regular Kebs makes a WORLD of difference without getting too hot — especially during early-morning shoots or windy ridge hikes. The improved fit feels more streamlined without sacrificing any mobility. LOTS of stretch and support in a refined look, makes these ideal for in-field and casual wear. I'm only 5'4" so I was nervous about the higher waist, but I ordered the short (thank you for making that available) and it's sooo comfortable, keeps the cold out, layers tucked, and gear belts sitting comfortably in place. Now it's importNow for the shortcomings, honestly... I'm still looking. The comfort, flexibility, and refined look are a powerful package. So much so, I'm getting the other two colours and hoping there are more on their way. I can see these lasting through years of travel, fieldwork, and countless adventures behind the lens!!

I have horses and in addition enjoy spending a lot of time outdoors in the winter in general- hiking, walking on trails, etc. These pants are so warm and very easy to maneuver in, as well as feeling durable enough that I'm not worried about damaging them.

What really surprised me was the temperature regulation - despite pushing through 14 challenging miles, these pants kept me perfectly warm without overheating. The ventilation zips were a lifesaver when the afternoon sun hit!

I just received these pants…they are amazing!! I own a previous edition of these and they only came in regular length. I’m so happy they’re now available in a 34” inseam and the higher waist is sublime!! They work like a charm for my body shape. I think I’m going to have to get these updated ones in black too. Steep price, but I have worn my last pair for 4 winters now and they are holding up strong! I am out daily, trekking a couple of hours no matter the weather. This plant is perfect in cold winter months

These are comfier than my roots sweatpants and move with my body. Tried these on a whim and have been wearing them every day in the winter. So great

These trousers are amazing. When the weather gets colder, the extra warmth these provide over the regular Keb trousers don’t go unnoticed! I also think the fit is greatly improved over the older Keb trousers but can’t speak to the new ‘improved fit’ ones. As for the higher waist, unlike the other review, I love this. It complements my figure better than the lower waist and it provides extra protection and warmth, as well as making tucking a base layer or t-shirt in easier and more comfortable. The cost is high but 100% worth it for trousers that will last years. I definitely plan on buying more.

Everything is great about these pants except for the high waist - it does not work for me, I unfortunately had to send this one back - why can't this be available in a regular mid waist ???
