Favourite Work And Trekking Pants!
The pants are great, this is my second pair of the vented version, they last quite awhile. I work outdoors a lot and my older vidda pro vented are still holding up from 2020, they have patches on them from some wear and tear but they still hold up! Looking forward to getting a pair of vidda pro light zip off if they bring them back in the future for some additional tough and versatile pants that turn into shorts for trekking!

Excellent Pant And Updated Fit With One Critique
I a impressed with the updated fit and sizing, as a guy who is regularly finding 30” inseams too long, the updated fit in length and overall silhouette looks great.
Make sure to SIZE UP, I also almost never need to size up in anything. I got a 32/30 and found the seat of the trousers to be tight enough that it didn’t feel practical when I squatted. so I am returning them for the 34/30 and I will return with an update on the fit for them.

these are not hiking pants. they are work pants. I thought they would be a lot more hiking type pants but they are not, the material is not stretchy except in the crotch where its a different material. the only real ventilation area, Not what i was looking for. They are great camp pants

Excellent Pants, Small For Athletic Builds
Great pair of trekking trousers. Used them for 280 kilometers in Northern Sweden. Dries quickly and survived going though thick brush and trees. Better to order a size up if you have an athletic build with big thighs as the pants do run small without any stretch in the seat. Only wish that they come in longer sizes, I am 197 cm tall with long legs. I wish the inseam was 4 cm longer to better cover the boots when hiking.

Durable But Inflexible
I wore these pants on a recent backpacking trip and came out with a list of pros and cons.
Pros: they are durable and held up over lots of log climbing and skree butt scrambles and were comfortable to wear for multiple days in a row
Cons: the durability comes with a loss in stretch which made them a bit uncomfortable while maneuvering more overgrown trails and makes them overall less breathable, even with the leg vents

Zipper Vents Are Unreliable
I chose these over vidda pro for the ventilation in summer months but it's become a nightmare. When fully closed the zipper comes done on its own and now I'm dealing with a tick bite and fearing about Lyme disease. For backcountry campers, probably avoid these.

Come On Now..
Having had multiple pairs of these pants, I feel as though Fjallraven could do better.. especially for the obsurd price tag. There are two things that bewilder my brain.
1- I have an older pair of these that fit excellent. I wear the EU46 in the 'regular' length. My everyday pants are a US 31"x32" for reference.
Fjallraven has evidently more recently changed the cut of these pants to only fit people with no leg or butt muscle.. I've tried multiple pairs of the same size, and while the waist is still the same- the 'regular' length is now too long and the 'short' length is too short. The 'regular' also seems to have a more proper fit throught the thighs/butt area so that I can move, while the 'short' is incredibly restrictive through the thigh/butt area.
Being a pretty 'normal' built/sized person, I've never experienced such awful fittment of any clothing, especially 'higher end' items such as these.
2- The leg pockets.. the bottom of the left leg pocket is sewn into the top of the reinforced knee area, how the pants should be. The bottom of the right leg pocket however is asymmetrical and stops about 3/4" above the top of the reinforced knee area, leaving a thin flimsy bit of fabric between in a vulnerable high stress area of the pants.
Otherwise.. they could be great.. I'm an outdoorsman in the woods on a daily basis in AK, I expect the equipment I pay hard earned money for to perform. Has Fjallraven done any field testing? Have they even done any fittment testing on normally built/sized people???

Moving? Bending? Kneeling? Avoid!!!
Hello! I purchased my vidda pro ventilated pants a few years ago. They were my “buy once cry once” selection for my outdoor teaching and wilderness first responder job. The G1000 sure is tough, but it restricts vertical movement of your legs - every step pulls the pants down on the iliac crest because the waist is low rise and equally stretch-resistant. The inner thigh/crotch portion of my trousers wore through within a year of use, and fjallraven was kind enough to repair that. I appreciate the effort! However I continue to struggle with these pants. I’m telling you - they DO NOT move with your body - I went so far as to get my trousers tailored and I still cannot bear to put them on. They’re just uncomfortable for daily wear.
If you need pants for short walks through thorny brush, these will work great. Working on splitting wood? Excellent choice if you wear them with overalls. But these are not an all-day comfort technical piece of gear - the canvas is unforgiving. The ventilation zippers often open without me reaching for them - it might sound weird but I don’t want students seeing my boxers.
The pockets located in the front of the pant are super awkward too - any object that’s not flat like a wallet (I carry a flashlight, multitool, etc) these stick out like a sore thumb and press into your thigh.
Not a knock against fjallraven - your products are solidly built. However I think a sales rep steered me in the wrong direction with this choice of gear - and I’ve given it a really really solid try. However I can say I have to let these pants go - I’ve tried different belts, overalls, tailoring, etc. Sorry guys!
One last note - if you’re struggling with the same problem, try wearing them with thin, slick long underwear. The friction-reduction helps.

Amazing But One Suggestion
I love these pants but I just wish the buckwheat color had darker knees and behind fabric. I can’t hike or camp without dirtying up my knees or grass stain on the behind.
