Was on the hunt for a pair of waterproof (preferably gore-tex) rugged/resilient pants for waterfowl hunting. I was a tad skeptical of these, I was happily wrong in some respects. The materials is rugged but not heavy. It easily prevented my getting wet in 4 hours of near constant rain while dove hunting. The zippers make getting them on and off very easy while wearing muck boots—one reason I chose them over pairs with zippers just to the knees. The pockets are deep which is helpful. The color is much darker than pictured tho. I'm not a fan of the suspenders. They are thick and difficult to adjust. They come off and I use a different brand of suspenders that have rubber/tacky material to prevent the suspenders from slipping off—which the Filson one's did a few times while sitting and the tension was off of them. Unfortunately, all sizes have the same inseam of 32" — I would have preferred a shorter inseam for the smaller sizes. Also, a 3rd button to really narrow the hem/cuff would have been nice or some elastic band to prevent the pants from slipping and falling over shows that aren't as large/wide as much boots would have been better. You can't hem pants like this (zipper) without some significant cost and time and since you can't get them in a shorter inseam at least give us the option to tighten the pants cuff.
