After taking the Cotopaxi Allpa 50L on my travels, I can confidently say it’s one of the best travel packs I’ve used. Tons of space, great organization, and the suitcase-style opening makes packing and finding things super easy. The compartments keep everything organized, and the bag feels durable enough to handle being tossed around during travel. It’s a great option for longer trips when you want to avoid checking a bag if possible. Comfortable to carry, practical, and stylish without being over the top. If you’re looking for one bag that can handle everything from weekend trips to international adventures, the Allpa 50L is definitely worth considering.

I really wish I'd spent more time load testing this pack before I took it on a trip as I would have returned it. The main issue is how uncomfortable the straps are with a filled pack. The zip off portion was also awkward and uncomfortable when used on it's own. It tends to spill forward any time you try to unzip to access items inside. Wanted to love it, but it was a dud and don't think I'd take on another trip.

I've been flying with my allpa 42 for six years with little issue. I liked the idea of extra room in a detachable sling bag. So far I like the better ability to organize,but wish there were strong grab handles on all sides like my previous pack. I like the bigger water bottle mesh pouch,but maybe have two or have it with the sleeve for laptops on the same side as the current grab handle.

The Alpha 50L Travel Pack looks amazing! Love the fatigue color pattern. It's a sharp looking bag that gas what I need. Haven't used it yet, but I look forward to giving it a spin. .

I was so excited to receive and use this 50L travel pack. This bag is ALMOST there. A couple major issues forced me to send it back. First, the good. It's a gorgeous color, and adds to the mauve shades already in my closet. The material is high quality and very durable compared to other similar styles by other companies. The inner area is very spacious, and I prefer this open, versatile design to the smaller Adventure backpacks by Cotopaxi. The zip-off feature of the detachable compatment is easy. The extra pockets are perfect, and the laptop pocket allows for two large devices to fit. Here are my issues. 1. The blue straps on both the waist belt and the detachable hip pack tend to loosen over time as you walk, even short distances (1 mile). I had to tie them tight, or roll them into themselves to prevent them from loosening, but even then, they'd slowly get looser and looser. On the detachable hip/waist pack, they'd loosen all the way after a half-day of walking. 2. Similarly, the velcro feature of the adjustable back length tends to stretch and loosen as the day goes on. This was a more subtle change over time; 3. The last major issue is that the detachable waist pack has a strap that is symmetrical to the length of the bag i. e. it wasn't correctly designed. Most combo cross-body and hip packs like this have the straps that are either angled away from the bag part or off-center, which allows the heavy part of the bag to hang down correctly. While wearing the detachable bag, it would constantly evert, with the exposed mesh fabric facing up, and the zipper facing down. It also kept swinging around when I bent down, which doesn't happen with bags that are designed with an eccentrically positioned strap. Even cotopaxi's other hip bag, Kapai del dia is correctly designed, with the strap off center, toward the top of the bag. As soon as your team addresses/updates this design, I WILL BE THE FIRST IN LINE FOR A NEW, PINK COTOPAXI 50L TRAVEL BAG! :)

I haven’t traveled with this bag yet. When I do hopefully I can update my review. I’m planning to use it during my European travels. I tend not to stay in a single place very long. Hotels for one night, on and off trains daily. First impression of the bag is that it will work perfectly for this. It’s incredibly sturdy and durable. It is smaller than I thought it would be although I am an over packer. My hope is to fit everything I would need in it for two weeks. I also LOVE the top part that comes off that can be used as a day pack.

I purchased the ALPA50 and have used it for one trip. So far so good. I like the detachable crossbody functionality and haven't found zipping it back on to be that big of a deal. Only one suggestion. I wish they had handles on more sides of the bad when it is in "duffel mode"..

I bought this backpack and packing cubes. The backpack is sturdy and well designed. I love that the packing cubes fit in just right and provide organization for the large compartment. The only downside is when the sling pack is attached and the backpack is open, the sling compartments are all facing down making them hard to reach and allowing contents to fall out when opening it. I still am glad I bought it and recommend it to others.

I was able to put all that I needed for two in Europe. It was easy to move around the many countries without the trouble of wheels. It’s roomy enough to put clothes, shoes and bathroom stuff. The top part is even big enough for an iPad. Or souvenirs.

I researched several two in one travel backpacks for an upcoming trip across multiple countries and, while they all had good capacity, none had the sea leashes of the Allpa 50L. I love how the spacious sling bag only takes up vertical space when attached, making trains / buses / narrow aisle travel easier. I use the main bag for my suitcase and the sling for my plane / train / auto bag.

This bag is amazing! It travels well on airplanes with lots of little zipped cubbies to store my quick essentials! I love the durable rugged material on the outside to resist stains and water. Highly recommend this bag when traveling on a plain because you have everything accessible to you should you need to get to anything quickly.

Really happy with the Cotopaxi Allpa 50L! It’s roomy, well-designed, and perfect for travel. My favorite feature is the detachable top section that can be used as a crossbody bag, which is super convenient for keeping essentials close while on the go or if the pack doesn't fit in the overhead bin. I like to pack my headphones and book in that and keep it with me on planes. Love the versatility!
