Pom-pom Fell Off After First Wash - Hand Wash, Line Dry

I should have wrote this when it happen in late winter/early spring this year. Super bummed! Wore this one time; hand washed, line dried and the pom-pom fell off! I was very disappointed to see that double-sided tape was used to hold the pom-pom on and it wasn't stitched on. I have never purchased a Carhartt winter hat/beanie before and did because my boyfriend swears by the quality and warmth and I decided to make the purchase. It is warm and thick and while I could stitch the pom-pom on myself, I really didn't expect that coming from a Carhartt product. I need to look at it to see if I can remove the double-sided tape before stitching on because it might stick out. Disappointed.
