Montane Jacket Delivers

Great jacket. Very warm even in temperatures well below freezing.

Great Work Coat But Could Be Better

This jacket is very warm and wind proof. It is comfortable in sub zero temperatures. The fit is loose as advertised. The pockets are very deep which is nice and there are plenty of outside pockets. I would have liked an inside zipped pocket for wallet, etc. There are a few areas that could be improved. The zipper is very tough to get started (it is small and I can rarely start it without looking and restarting a couple of times) and using it with even light gloves is impossible. The hood is always irritating me in the car as it is very stiff and rubs the back of your head and neck when not in use. The hood can not be removed. The final issue is the weight of the coat, it is very heavy even for a work coat. I believe this coat will wear well and last many years.

Really awesome jacket. When it first arrived I thought it was larger than a regular large. I did order a regular large and it's great. Love all of the pockets including the hand pockets. It's a really comfy and warm jacket. The day I got it, I tried it on and immediately about in 10 minutes it got me so warm. It doesn't get extremely cold in winter where I live, but we just had a snow/ice storm with extreme cold temperatures. This jacket is great for that and even if it's not really cold but still cold enough to have a jacket. Love the sherpa lining and so far it's a durable jacket. Downside is the hood. The hood is nice but it's big with and without clinching it up. That's the only downside I have. Other than that, it's fantastic!!

Comfortable And Practical With Questionable Warmth Rating!

This jacket is comfortable with plenty of pockets and storage. It won't win any style awards, but that's not the point of Carhartt gear. My only criticism about this jacket is its claimed Level 4 Extreme Warmth Rating. Yes, the jacket is warm, but it's hard to believe this is their warmest level of jacket. Definitely needs another layer (or two) under to handle 10 degree and lower weather!
