Epic Failure

Purchased about 2-3 weeks ago. Took it out on a trip to Big Bend with a large group. Camped in an incredibly remote location, many miles and hours to the nearest store of any sort. Put the pot on the stove in the morning to heat water for the group. The incredibly low quality seals around the provided spigot for the pot had failed. I doubt that I overtightened it (in my opinion) the seals are just made of cheap, plastic material. The aluminum pot itself seems to be just fine, but was rendered useless by this spigot and seal that is clearly it's Achilles heal. Would probably be better off just boiling water in a large pot and using a cup to serve hot water which is what we ended up doing. Waste of money unfortunately......

Trash

Very reactive with water would not buy again very disappointed thin material poorly quality at the price point

Great Dual Use Pot.

Use the pot for hot wash water while camping and to hold sparge water for brewing. Works well. Could be a bit heavier and tighter lid but overall a great purchase.

Great For Groups

A must have when you want hot water for large groups. I just used this for a trip up-north with a large number of college students. In the mornings I would place the pot on the kitchen stove to heat water and then move the pot to a lounge area for the students. While made of aluminum, the water remained warm for a surprising long time when taken off of the heat. In the evenings I would bring it down to the beach and keep it on one of the burners of my Camp Chef stove with the "warm" setting. The students loved immediate access to hot water for instant cocoa/cider/tea to stave off the evening chill. A nice feature is that the spigot is removable and reversible- when not in use you can attach the spigot on the inside to protect it from getting banged up. My only suggestion for improvement would be to increase the thickness of the brass nut that holds the spigot on the water-side. The nut is thin in height and hard to get finger grip on.
