Sprayed Out Into My Face

I filled it with hot cider. I went to adjust the lid and it sprayed hot burning liquid into my face. Left red burn mark that eventually peeled. After reading fine print it says to open hot liquids away from you because the become under pressure. I have never read this before on any other cup. I was really disappointed and now very hesitant when using.
