I usually buy size 9 wide in these shoes as I’ve been wearing them since Ghost 9. They seemed much longer than usual, a good 1+ inches from my longest toe, so I returned and got the 8 1/2 wide. Like others have been saying, the wide is more narrow than usual, not so much in the toe box but the narrowest part in the middle of the shoe on the outside. Plus they are more rigid than usual in that area. I had to read the description again to make sure there weren’t the dreaded guiderails there. Thankfully, no, but just a quirk in this rendition of the shoe. I’m still considering a return with the intent of waiting for the Ghost 19.

Bought these for my daughter to work in and she loves them. She said they are very comfortable.

Brooks Ghost are my go to walking shoes. I buy a new pair every year. I bought the Ebony Folkstone Metallic in the 18’s. Not only do they feel awesome they look great too. This design has a soft conforming tongue. Great secure fit.

So far so good! I bought and returned several different pairs of Brooks and other brand sneakers to replace my Brooks Ghost 15s. FINALLY, the Ghost 18s seem to fit my size 5 feet comfortably. Very cushy yet supportive for my beach walks and/or treadmill walks.

I purchased these for my outdoor training. They have the typical Brooks Ghost cushion that I like, but they feel more narrow in the heel than any of my Brooks Ghost before. Something I struggle with is the ever changing style of the shoes. Right now I am 9 months pregnant so I am only walking in the shoes, so it is hard to say how they will feel when I am able to start running. Still a comfortable shoe, just worth trying on before purchasing to make sure you like the fit and feel.

I needed a sneaker for after my foot surgery. This one is the best one for me because of the wide toe bed. I’m not a wide, just need the wider toe bed. Very hard to find.

I have plantar fasciitis and this shoe has more cushion and support than the Ariel shoe, which I have been ordering for a few years. From past experience, Brooks shoes have longer wear than others and I'm hoping this style does also. Two medical professionals have told me that Brooks is a good shoe and brand.

Very happy with my Ghost 18’s, primarily used for long walks.

The shoe is very lightweight! My feet are comfortable. No soreness after walking for 3 miles - even when wearing them for the first time. I highly recommend the Ghost 18!

I wish the ghost 18 would have worked for me. Unfortunately, it made the top of my foot hurt, so I had to return it. Loved everything else about it. I still miss the Ghost 13.

These shoes were ordered for my grandmother for walking. She loves how comfortable they are to walk around the neighborhood and out running errands. She needed a shoe that would provide added cushion while walking and the Brooks Ghost 18 were perfect for her.

I’ve ditched my underarmour shoes for this! Springy, comfortable, true to size. I do wish it had options for arch support as I did need to get new inserts. Comfortable on the joints. Feels great on the track and on the road. They’re cute and I’ve found my forever shoe!

I swear I just wrote a review and now I'm being prompted to review this shoe. So if my review (slightly different) is showing up twice, I apologize. I always order the same size Ghosts and have since around 2010. I buy a pair or two every couple of years and have generally been pleased with the fit. I have also purchased New Balance shoes, because both seem to be the brands that cater to my wide, high instep foot. I avoided buying the Ghost 17 because the reviews were terrible. But some of the ones for the 18s were good so I pulled the trigger. Well, I think the folks at Brooks still need to do some work. Here are my complaints based on walking around my house, not on the road: Right when I tried them on, there's a patch of fabric around where you'd have a bunion (where the toe bone hits the longer bone in the mid foot on the big toe) that is stiffer than previous models (I have Ghost 16s and a 15). I'm afraid it would give me a blister so I don't know if I want to try breaking these in. Where you lace up the shoes over your instep, these are comically deficient in fabric compared to previous models. Basically, I expect roughly 1-1.5" inchese between the lacing near the ankle that gets a little narrower toward the heel. These are more like 3" near the ankle. I don't know if it's because the cushioning is so much cushier and will break in to wear there's less give there, but wow, it looks like I'm a small child trying to wear too small shoes. I mean, I know I have a high instep and wide feet, but this hasn't ever been a problem in Ghosts before. I read somewhere once that people either have triangle feet or rectangle feet, and usually brands cater to one more than the other. I have triangle shaped feet, but Brooks has always fit my feet just fine. These feel like the heel is a lot looser and the toes are narrower. Not extreme, but enough that it's a different fit from my previous Ghosts and I do not like. Lastly, the cushioning doesn't bother me as much as other folks, however, it does feel like it causes you to supinate a bit. Especially around the heels. As someone who was fitted by a running shoes shop years ago to Ghost because I'm a supinator that needs a cushion/neutral shoe, this feels like I need to find new shoes. Very odd. Overall, Brooks, I think these Ghost 18s are not right and I think I need to return these shoes. Please go back to what worked for the Ghost 16s and before.

I always wear a 9.5 wide in women's sizes from Brooks. I have a couple of pairs of Ghost 15s and a Ghost 16 and I really like both of them. I've been wearing Ghosts back to the early 2010s, usually buy a couple of pairs a year. I read horrible reviews on the Ghost 17s and waited to pick up some Ghost 18s. I have only worn them around the house briefly, so can't give a significant review on road-worthiness, but here's my initial reaction from wearing around the house. Upon trying on, I noticed there was a stiffer piece of fabric around the spot where people usually get bunions (where the big toe meets the longer part of the foot). It feels narrower, whereas my previous Ghosts have a more mesh-like construction and slightly wider part of the sole there. It rubs against my foot there and it definitely feels narrower. I wonder if this part of the shoe would eventually give a little after wear, but I'm not sure I want to sacrifice my feet for that experiment. I noticed that the actual laces cover more real estate in the top part of the shoe around the instep, which tells me there's less fabric there compared to previous models. Like they're using less fabric to cheap out or something. I prefer my laces to be roughly equally laced (roughly 1" from the bottom part near my toes up to maybe 1.5" near my ankle after adjusting for my high instep with lacing) but these are more like 1.5" near the toes and 2.5" to 3" wide near the ankle. I don't know if the cushioning in the shoe will sink after a short while and it won't be nearly as bad, but I haven't had that with previous Ghost models, at least not to that extreme. It has the effect of making the shoes look way too small or like I'm a small child. Kind of weird. And because I have a really high instep, it rubs there more than the fabric would and I'm not a fan. I read somewhere that folks either have rectangle feet or triangle feet. I have the latter, to an extreme, where my heels are really narrow but the ball of my foot is very wide, and with a high instep. Previous Ghosts feel like they cater to my foot style, whereas these seem like they're trying to court more of a rectangle style foot. They feel way looser on my heel but tighter around my toes. Last note is about the foam and how it feels. It's weird in that it feels like as. you walk, it pitches you out over the back outside heel. Maybe for people who pronate that's a good thing, but this is supposed to be a neutral/cushion shoe and I'm a supinator. It just feels strange. I think I might need to return these. :(

The Ghost did not work for me. Not like the wider toe box. And the new design rubbed my ankle. I loved the Ghost 16. New version, not so much. Glad it works for some
