Great New Features

We loved our previous Copper Spur tent, and this updated version is just as great with some nice improvements. The materials feel more durable and water resistant and I really appreciate the reinforced rubber/plastic pieces on the rain fly where the last tent pole goes through. Our older tent showed wear in that spot, so this is a smart design change. The only downside for me is that the tent stakes no longer come with a separate storage bag. Instead, they’re stored in a pouch sewn into the main tent bag. It’s a small complaint, but a dedicated removable stake bag was much more convenient for us. It means I’ll need to find and purchase a separate stake bag, which likely won’t match the quality of the original. Overall, we’re very happy with the tent and appreciate the upgrades Big Agnes has made and would definitely recommend it!

Great Back Country Tent

I'm really happy with the tent. The combination of weight/size and it's durability in rain make it a perfect back-country tent that will hold up in a variety of conditions.

Poor Longevity

Seams have deteriorated and flaked away within two years! Has had around three months total use in that time in pretty fair conditions. The outer bag is flimsy and offers no protection to the tent whilst walking. Stored dry. Not impressed. Otherwise, it is OK, but not brilliant.

Light And Spacious!

Just took this tent out for its first backpacking trip in the Indian Peaks Wilderness. The 3 person tent can fit 2 people easily (my husband is 6 ft and had plenty of room) plus a dog and packs too if you wanted. It’s so light honestly I wish I had upgraded sooner! Plus setting it up was easy and straight forward, nothing out of the ordinary. Haven’t tested it in rain btw so no thoughts yet on how it performs on that front. My Big Agnes Frying Pan SL2 lasted me 9 years through college adventures and my PCT thruhike where it got daily use for 5 months straight. And it’s still in decent shape (just heavier than the newer tech). I believe I’ll probably get at least the same amount of time if not longer from this tent. TLDR: Awesome tent, super light weight, tons of space, easy set up. Big Agnes is a great brand that I’ll come back to for ages.

Great Space And Easy Setup

Great tent. We baught our Copper Spur four years ago, over 30 nights of use in all types of weather and still going strong. Great space if you like to keep your packs inside the tent at night.

Exceptional Tent. Does Exactly What You Need It To Do.

I set my Copper Spur UL3 up as soon as it arrived, and just in time for a thunderstorm to roll through. The tent help up great in the wind gusts and heavy rain. I’m 6’3 and fit comfortably length wise. If I extend my foot I can touch both sides of the tent at the longest point, so I’ll probably sleep a bit sideways, but I wouldn’t have a problem sleeping straight length wise with another person in the tent. It would be perfect for two people but it’s great for one person if you’re my size and want to keep your pack inside. I can sit up tall and still have a fist size gap between my head and the inside of the tent. My only complaint goes hand in hand with this being an ultra light tent, and that’s the thin material. It feels like it will rip but it’s apparently very durable. The bottom of the tent is super slick so I feel like I’m sliding around. I would not feel comfortable using this without the footprint but I’ve heard it’s fine as long as you’re careful about where you set up.

Bigger On The Inside!

We haven't taken our new Copper Spur 3 out yet, but we set it up in the house and were impressed with how spacious it is. We're replacing an old Copper Spur 3 and I'm loving the updated interior storage and looking forward to trying out the hiking pole supported awnings. Backpacking is always fun, and I'm excited to be extra comfortable this year.

Lightweight, Easy, And Spacious

This is my primary tent, used for multi season backpacking. I love how lightweight it is, and yet it still feels sturdy. It sets up super easily, packs down easily, and is very spacious inside. I would suggest getting the footprint as well. I haven't yet, and am worried when using the tent on anything except soft ground without rocks or pine needles (hard to come by).

Great 3 Season Light-weight Tent.

We backpack and car camp depending on the trip. This tent has done well so far. It feels roomy. Love all the pockets on the inside. It was quick and easy to set up. Really like the vent up top.

Perfect For Motocamping!

I use this while motocamping and had been great so far. Seems like it would hold up pretty well in crappy weather with all the stake out points. Easy to set up and super light weight.

I Love This Tent!

This tent is the perfect size for a solo trip or with another person. I am 5'8" and i find the tent has plenty of space. is very light and so easy to setup. My fie and daughter have taken it camping and i have used it backpacking with our son. Very comfortable and easy to use.

Everything You Could Want In A Tent

We successfully went Rim2Rim in the Grand Canyon fitting 3 grown men, we were a bit snug but 3 men!! The gear pockets inside allow for great organization and with how easily the tent packs and travels it really can go anywhere, do anything!

Great Tent

Love this tent. super easy to set up: the fly, tent and ground tarp all have color coded corners, so its super intuitive. Even though its rated for three people, they would need to be very small people. Two people would be very comfortable.

I Love This Tent! I Would Buy It Again

I use the tent with a partner during trail projects. It's light weight really helps to offset the trail tools we have to carry in.

Happy With This Tent

The tent is light, comfortable, and easy to set up. This is a great backpacking tent for me and my partner.
