Always Part Of My Equipment

The Gamma Hoody is very light and comfortable, good fit.

Wenig Kann Genug Sein.

Sehr leichter und vielseitiger Hoody. An trockenen, heißen Tagen gibt er im Hochgebirge oder beim Klettern ausreichend Windschutz. Der Schnitt ist angenehm, weder weit noch eng. In puncto Atmungsaktivität ist zu sagen, dass der Hoody mehr speichert als abgibt - ich verwende ihn ausschließlich bei Wind oder zunehmender Kälte und nicht als Sonnenschutz oder leichten Layer bei Ausdaueraktivitäten. Sehr geringes Packmaß und äußerst leicht.

Nice Jacket, Not Breathable For High Output

Great fit and form, nice pockets, helmet compatibility. Good wind and abraision resistance. Not adequate breathability for high output activities. I bought it for ski touring as a leave-it-on layer and have found it too warm unless temps are below ~15 degrees F, which it's not often in Utah. As another commenter mentioned, when you sweat in the jacket, it retains odor much more than other apparel. I literally can't wear it three times without washing it, and I do not generally make clothing stink.

Versatility Plus!

I want a softshell that breathes first and foremost. This Gamma Lightweight is excellent in this. That makes it a 4 season jacket- more layers in winter, less in summer, but it wears all day long because it breathes (IMHO). After that, the fit is a perfect Medium- 5'11" and 180lbs. Can layer a bit, but fine with a light layer too. Stretch and comfort are best in any of the many jackets I've had. And the blue color is a favorite of both my wife and me. Two chest pockets are awesome and the handwarmer pockets definitely come in handy! Hood is perfect and fully adjustable. This is likely the most versatile jacket I have ever owned, all things considered!

My Everyday Summer Jacket

So I'm not one to shy away from bright colors and when I say the "sunshine yellow" Gamma Hoody I had to have it. It so perfect for Chicago springs which can rang from low 40s and chilly rain to 80s and sun. Either way the Game lightweight holds it down. Plus the chest pockets go crazy.

Great Multi-use Soft Shell

I’m 5’ 11” 185lbs. Shell is a perfect fit (size Large). Firm fitting, but not too much. Good fits well over helmet. Material is lighter weight than I expected, but a very comfortable feel with plenty of range of movement. Highly recommend.

Need More Hood Adjustment

medium fit i thought was pretty good, allow for layering. but the hood only has the one adjustment. i dont care for that hood setup on my jackets, i have had it with a couple and drives me crazy. so i had to return it

Excellent Quality And Lw

Super light weight, breathable, and high quality - 10/10. The cinch cord is great and actually holds in the spot you choose - cannot wait to buy more.

It Was Too Baggy.

I like Arcteryx stuffs in general but this jacket is not one of them. I was baffled with its fitting. Compared to other Arcteryx jackets I have this one was so baggy. I returned it and got Gamma Jacket instead, which has better fitting.

Revised Version Is Great For Broad Shoulders.

I love this jacket. A lot of people seem to be saying that it’s too baggy but comparing it to the previous Gamma lightweight (gamma SL) it’s only slightly looser. the shoulders are broader and the waist is slightly wider but it’s still cut better than %95 of competitors jackets. The cut is now more designed for layering. It’s by no means a bulky jacket and appreciate the added chest pockets. For reference I’m 6’ 200 lbs and lean due to constant cycling, hiking, and skiing. The large fits me very well. Again, I do have broad shoulders and that could be why it fits me so well. I also have a high ape index so the sleeves are near perfect. I still wish the wrists and hem were stitched instead of glued. Maybe someday I’ll get my wish. The chloris is a very interesting and unique green that looks better in person than on the website or in photos but ultimately I sent it back and kept the black jacket. I think it will work well for winter mountaineering as I run very warm. I use it as a first shell and If needed I add a hardshell over the top and then belay. I hate shedding layers and this will work slightly better for me in the cold than the gamma SL has. I’ll keep the SL for cool weather cycling. I do feel that it’s too loose to use a summer shell (again it’s not baggy) unless you’re wearing it casually.

Love this piece… beautiful color too. Arc’teryx really gets the athletic look… elegant, streamlined, nothing unnecessary.

Nice Upgrade To The Gamma Sl

Nice jacket. It's similar to my Gamma SL (same fortius 1.0 fabric), but with twin chest pockets which is why I bought it the day it came out Mar 2024. The caveat: I got the black and it's not black - it's like a deep gray or faded black. Very disappointed. I had my black palisade pants on and they don't match. Also I like the looser fit unlike the Gamma SL which was more fitted.
