I’m a 45-year-old male, 77 kg, 5’8” tall. I wouldn’t describe myself as lean. Unfortunately, I didn’t have the option to visit a store and try the jacket, as there is no Arc’teryx store or authorised dealer in my country. I purchased this jacket online from a U.S. store, so sizing research was critical for me. After a lot of research, I went with size M, and it fits me very well. The jacket has ample room for a base layer and a proper mid-layer without feeling tight or restrictive. The fit feels well-balanced and functional. I’m not commenting on jacket quality or performance, as that has already been covered extensively by many reviewers, and this is a very popular jacket anyway. My intention with this review is purely to help others pick the right size, especially those buying online without the chance to try it on. For anyone buying this jacket primarily for streetwear or a more relaxed fit, going one size up may be a better choice. Hope this helps someone make a confident sizing decision.

Really Good.
I like Arcteryx, and Cerium SV Hoody down jacket s the best down jacket I ever had. Also Arcteryx parka.. But sizes is really somethimes big issue , especially of shell jacket , is the more complicated...They are meant to be worn on top of down jacket and if you try to have directly on your hoodie than it can looked that they are little oversize. I'am 180cm and size M looks like its little bit bigger...but not.. The quality is top top.. waterproofing one of the best..

Not Sure Why Designed This Way.
I rushed and bought this before Beta SL was out because I needed one. But this is a very odd jacket. - Hood is smaller. Neck is tighter as well. It's hard to put layers underneath. Rho + delta + atom LT then this Beta is hard to fully close because neck is choking. - No pit zip. Saving weight they say but everyone knows goretex don't breathe well when moving. - Higher pockets. I guess the idea was to cut weight and make it more technical. But without pit zip, it's more for city than mountain imo. I used it in the NYC standing in the line, in the raining for 1 hour. Waterproofing was good. If only hood was smaller and pocket is lower, it could be good city rain jacket. Or add pit zip and more room around neck, it would be good hiking hardshell. This is somewhere in the middle.
