I've previously owned a Fox and Dakine pad. This is far and away superior. Thick straps to affix to the tailgate with solid buckles that hold the pad tight. No velcro (or equivalent) to wear out or fail from sunlight. I could imagine some people might crank the downtube straps too tightly and begin to tear the straps off the pad but you really don't need atomic forces to keep the bikes upright and in place. This is a quality product and I expect the durability to match my first impressions.
