Warm, Tall, Warm, And Warm.

Very warm, quality, durable bag. Handles subzero temps easily. I'm 6'7'', a cold sleeper (I feel cold in room temps at night under my covers), and require a long, warm bag. The Cypress works perfectly. Very light and compact for its loft, dimensions, and durability. I've taken winter backpacking in Colorado above tree-line, cowboy camping on exposed ridges in 30+ mph winds and felt plenty warm. Just synch down the hood and forget about whatever nastiness is ensuing outside, no need for a tent when dry. The wind-proof shell offers good wind protection while adding durability and moisture protection to the face. The fabric is water resistant to minor exposure to water such as spills or brushing against wet surfaces, and dew, but I haven't tried using it under direct rainfall, nor would I expect it to repel extended exposure to water. Its very durable for a down bag. I'm not worried about tearing if I roll off my pad into the sticks as I do with other down bags. the length is just long enough for a 6'7'' sleeper, and the wide cut strikes a perfect balance between comfortable spaciousness and snug fit for retaining heat. The hood system is warm, thought I don't like the multiple draw-strings as they make me feel a bit claustrophobic when I synch them down, but I can't think of a better system for locking in the hood area. Its my favorite bag I've ever slept in and its worth the money if you need frequent and reliable use of a warm bag. The bag is too warm for summer camping in the desert, but works for me in summers in the mountains just unzip the sides to dump heat. I'd say you could get away with calling this a 3 season bag for a cold sleeper in the mountains, though warm sleepers might say its only a one season bag. At the time of my shopping for this bag, I didn't see any bags available that appeared to be meaningfully warmer than this, and from my experience, I'm guessing that's still the case. As its quite spacious you could sleep comfortably inside with your outerwear on, in which case I'd imagine you could push it to about the coldest sleeping conditions imaginable. If you're looking for a very warm, spacious, quality, durable, down bag, here it is. Enjoy.
