i have a Western Mountaineering sleeping and it's the best ever. This comforter is so comfy. It is worth the price. A well made American product.

It does a great job of moderating temperature. Almost always just right, can tighten it up around the neck to make it warmer. High quality and made in the USA. Get the king size for a queen bed.

I use this comforter every single day: early morning meditation outside, for that extra warmth on top of my blankets on cold nights, as a booster for my sleeping bag when camping. It's the best. Also makes for a world-class trip blanket. If you know, you know. Literally one of my favorite pieces of kit.

I was looking for something with down that was made in American, was warm, and light. This fit the bill on all three fronts. I bought the twin but am now looking into buying the queen.

My husband LOVES this! So light and well sized- it has plenty of room to hang over edge of bed to avoid cold leaks, and is so delightfully WARM!
Cold Always
Good comfortable heat source from urban to rural, tougher outer shell than indoor duvets. More reflective on one side which should be usefull

I knew Western Mountaineering products were top-of-the-line and this comforter does not disappoint! It's so light and so warm. You feel like you're sleeping under a cloud.

I was given this comforter as a gift and now I never want to get off the couch! It is light weight and warm but never overheats you. Super cozy. Have given one to a friend who loves it as much as I do. Need to come up with a dog sized version because my dog has recognized its magic qualities and wont get off!

Light as a Cloud! Very warm as expected. It does slip around in the cover, so one of these days I need to sew some ties in the Duvet to see if it will stay in place better. Very pleased with the product.

We've had the same mid-priced down comforter on our bed for fifteen years. It's from one of the big outdoor retailers, and they still sell the same model, along with dozens of others. We wanted a new comforter that would be both warmer and lighter -- most down comforters have very heavy shell fabrics, making them weigh upwards of six or seven pounds even though they have maybe 20 ounces of 600-fill down. With our previous comforter we needed a blanket under it for enough warmth in the winter. The Western Mountaineering Cloud 9 comforter is in a class by itself. It's made just like their sleeping bags: a super light fabric filled with 800-fill down. The total weight is less than three pounds for the Queen size, with 21 oz of down. We've been using it for a couple of weeks now, and it's glorious -- just like being in the backcountry in a high quality down sleeping bag, the comforter is very warm, drapes lightly on top of us, and has a wide comfort range. Looking at the loft, my educated guess is that it would come in at a 35-40 degree (F) rating if it were a sleeping bag. It's at least as puffy as my 40F rated hiking quilt. The overall size in Queen is pretty decent -- it's as large as the last comforter we have, though it's not the super oversize kind that drapes all the way to the floor. I would strongly recommend a comforter cover. We use one in a midweight cotton flannel that matches our sheets. The Cloud 9 fabric is very light, and while it's not fragile (been using the same fabric in my sleeping bags for years), I would not want to see what happens when my nasty sharp toenail hits the shell fabric over and over again. We've taken to using the Cloud 9 in the flannel cover and nothing else -- it's plenty warm enough even with the thermostat set to 60 overnight, and it feels great. The Cloud 9 has corner ties to keep it in place inside, and it's easy to wash the cover each week and put it back on. Note also that the slippery nylon shell fabric and the very light weight makes it very easy for the Cloud 9 to slide off the bed, so the cover helps with that too.

Awesome for indoors and for camping and traveling. A perfect comforter.

The high fill-power down in this comforter is terrific. Two caveats are that the synthetic shell needed to contain the down make a rustling noise, which takes some getting used to, and it slides around inside whatever duvet cover you put over it. Still glad I made the plunge however.
