No Rocks For Old Men….

It’s a stick clip. It’s for people who aren’t good enough to make the first 20’, are scared to make the first 20 ‘ or are old and can’t afford to mess up the first 20’ (me being the old and scared and not good enough). Works great. Glad I have the shorter because I can see how the long one would get a bit whippy. If you’re thinking about it, this one can be used for your first bolt protection, and if you want you can clip it to your harness.

It's Long..... Like Really Long, Ultra Long....

It works as advertised, not complaints there. At the fully extended length (like 20' easily) it gets super wobbly and could be difficult to make the clip. But at that length we are talking you wanted to secure the first 3 clips on the wall, not just the first one like normal. I wouldn't recommend this specific one as they have a compact version that would be just as effective in a smaller package and there is really no need for the extended length. The carabiner retainer works great and have had no issues with it.

Too Flimsy Get The Compact Or The Standard

I own the compact and standard length beta sticks but decided to get this one as well to hang draws before doing some climbs with difficult clipping stances. The compact and standard are both fantastic and I highly recommend them. This ultra long version I used once-one time just hanging a draw not even with a rope attached and it broke. It is too flimsy and long and when fully extended it falls over about half of it's length and bends the poles and once that happens you can no longer extend or contract the clip. Again, one single use and this thing broke, worst design ever. Once the pole falls over this clip is no longer than the standard version the extra length is absolutely worthless. Avoid this product unless they somehow make it stronger.
