Helium PXT
Bought the Thule Helium Platform XT for use with my Kia EV6 GTSeries. I really like the rack, and the ease with which bikes can be loaded/unloaded. Haven't had any problems with Helium Platform once I was able to install it properly. A hitch extension needed to used with a standard Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver so that the rack did not rub up against the rear bumper (this may not be a problem with EV6 trim lines other than the GT series).

Do not buy!! Especially not for this ridiculous price. This rack is cheap and will not last. The plastic (!!) arm that the ratchet mechanism attaches to broke within two months of purchase. They were good about the warranty, but I was lucky that it didn’t happen while I was driving. In the year since then, the mechanism has gotten jammed with dust and debris and no longer reliably cinches down on my bikes. I have attempted to take it apart to clean it several times but it inevitably becomes jammed again. It has also collapsed into the lowered position while driving on the highway. I do not trust it to carry my bikes.

I bought this bike rack one year ago and the arms got stuck because of cold temperature .

While this rack is expensive, like many others, I love the ease of use (when it works) and fact that the rack only contacts my bike tires. However, the rack has failed twice in a little over three years. I have just submitted my second warranty claim. The ratchet tray failed the first go round and the arms would not lock in place. This time the mechanism in the handle that releases the ratchet in both arms has locked up. I've tried lubricating them with no luck. Both fails were for the inner arms which I use on a regular basis. To Thule's credit the first warranty claim was pretty painless - they just sent me two new arms with little discussion - unfortunately they've failed again. I'm hoping this warranty request goes as well.

Sturdy and seems durable yet pretty lightweight and easy to store when not on the vehicle. Assembly instructions leave a little to be desired, but easy enough to figure out. Did a 500 mile trip with some 80mph interstate travel and no worries.

One wheel arm will not move up after folding it to the rack. Another arm will not engage to hold the wheel. Super disappointed in this rack.

This rack has been a disappointment- I expected more from such a well known brand. It has been stiff and difficult to use from the get go .

Ive had this product for 3 ish years, remove it from my vehicle for longer periods when I am not using it to try and maintain its life. it functioned great for a short period of time before the arms became very sticky. started with me having to pull very hard on the lever to lift them, then stoped functioning at all, I had to use bungey cords to secure the arms onto my wheel so that they didn't open up when driving, they did not lock into place anymore. I visited my local bike shop for advice, and ended up spending many hours taking it apart to clean and lubricate the cord and internal parts. It was a lot of work and a major hassle! and only slightly improved its function. 2 of the arms worked, but I was not confident putting my mountain bikes on the rack. on top of this, there is a funny piece that goes inside the hitch part that fell out and I lost, and after contacting thule they don't sell that part separately, and the whole rack is useless without it. so basically I have to now take the rack to the dump which is pretty painful for such an expensive rack. I don't have proof of purchase anymore (as life happens) and it is therefore not under warranty. Definitely do not recommend this rack.

Taken two mtb over multiple state lines and the rack has performed really well. The latch to lift and lower the rack is sometimes sticky/difficult to operate

There were issues with my new THP XT rack for two bikes. I worked with the warranty department and they made it right! My third Thule product! Thanks Guys!

This was a gift to my husband to replace our steel framed hitch rack that was rusting. The old one was very heavy and wasn't easy to put on/ take off. This one is much lighter and folds up more compact. Hubby gives it 5 stars!

First camping trip with two mountain bikes on the back, 80 miles an hour, no problem. Rack is tight. Highly recommended

Design is perfect. Quality is terrible. I loved this rack when I first got it. I did everyday and load and unload bikes on it multiple times a day. All the ratcheting teeth and parts are plastic and they wore out after about 3 months of use. Thule sent me a replacement but the locks didn't work on the replacement and the teeth just wore out again.

I bought a month ago. East to use and very stable for two mountain e-bikes. Compare to one-up which is more expensive and more difficult to use. Great design work!

I have found this bike rack to be lighter and easier to put my bike in a secure rack while riding on bumpy dirt roads. Love this easy to use secure rack
